This may be old news, but I was really impressed with the Futureheads record. Nice, short and tight popesque songs that I can listen over and over.
Some of their songs (Hounds of Love) kinda reminded me of The Clash...just a little. I'm sold on this band.

That song mostly reminds me of Kate Bush.

Really good record. Pop songs with some punk sensibility.

Futureheads is to Low-Fat Milk as The Clash is to Twinkies...

I like 'em -- enjoyed their live set when they came through LA the first time.

Are you sure you don't mean the Futureheads are to the Clash what low-fat milk is to Twinkies? Because I have no idea what the Clash's relationship to twinkies is.

Have you seen Terry Chimes lately?

(a.k.a. I messed up the analogy, but that guy's put on quite a few)...

i really like that song "First Day", but it'd sound a lot better if all of their songs didn't sound like it.

They take me to the brink of rocking out, but just can't quite push me over the edge. Nevertheless, it's a fun album, but I don't think I'll be listening to it a year from now. I think in general it's a feat for a band to make a pop-y album like this with a lot of staying power.
