I was watching Fight Club tonight and it struck me that the use of the Pixies Where is my Mind was a perfect choice and that everytime I hear that song I can't help but think of the movie. What are some other songs that are connected to movie like that? Another one that I can think is Singing in the rain and A Clock Work Orange, when ever I hear that song I crack up thinking about Alex and his droogs

Nilsson & Midnight Cowboy
Cat Stevens & Harold and Maude
Slow Ride & Dazed and Confused

etc etc.

I mean, any iconic soundtrack, like Rocky, is going to create an indeliable mark as well.

You noticed that too, huh? Actually, I sat in my seat for a while listening to it. It was nice.

Neil Young's whole sound track to Jarmusch's Dead Man always springs to mind for me.

"Viens, Malike, les lianes en fleurs," called 'the flower duet' from Lakme by Leo Delibes

This has been used in a bunch of stuff, but it will always make me think of the neat little film, I've Heard The Mermaids Singing (1987)

The music is absolutely sublime. You can hear it here, if you never have:

I cannot believe that the first post wasn't
"Mrs. Robinson" and The Graduate.

And, more recently:
"You're Gonna Miss Me" and High Fidelity

there's the obvious choice of "Stuck in the Middle With You" from the ear - slicing scene in Reservoir Dogs.

That piano part in Goodfellas. Think it came from a Clapton or Stones song. Anyway. That.

(It's too early in the morning to answer questions like this)

That's a good one. I can't hear that song without thinking of Dustin Hoffman.

It's probably because of how old I was but I can't hear "Bohemian Rhapsody" without thinking of Wayne's World.

I think the music from Requiem by the Kronos Quartet or whatever. I heard it recently in a preview for another movie or tv show (can't remember which) and I was like, "hey, that's the music from Requiem".

Also, "Sunshine of Your Love" from the same movie.

For me, that slow shot of Deniro makes the song so much more sinister in my head.

preview for last night's episode of lost.

first song that came to mind was "lust for life" - iggy pop in trainspotting. although the song has been licensed for many other things... i think it's the perfect fit for that scene in trainspotting.

i think the "lux aeterna" piece is used in a lot of trailers for other films. it's a really great piece that fits all over the place. i've heard it used for battle scenes, too.

"Save Me" by Aimee Mann will forever remind me of Magnolia.

Is that what they used for the battle scenes in
Excalibur?
