for some reason i seem to remember hearing that airlines drop their prices on tuesday mornings or something? does this sound familiar to anyone?

i suppose i could just keep checking expedia, orbitz, etc every morning...but i'm wondering if anyone has any inside scoop on this.

just found this after a little froogling:

What's the absolute best time to purchase a ticket directly from the airlines? Turns out it's Wednesday from midnight to 1a.m. in the time zone of the airline's "home base."

I didn't know that... all I know is I scored a roundtrip ticket to Atlanta for $319 about a month ago, and I haven't seen it go cheaper since.

Urban legend. There is no magic timing to airfares.

Farecast.com is like kayak but will give you a degree of confidence of the price moving.

that kayak site is pretty cool. Farecast.com doesn't seem to have an international option though.

the best times to buy tickets are when the least amount of people are buying (like pre-dawn on weekday mornings).

i read an article about orbitz a while ago in which one of their executives said they give laptops to employees because they want people to always have internet access to find low-priced flights. he mentioned a $27 fare from cyprus to toronto that cropped up at some absurd time.

Wales is amazing.

My mom put the kibash on my dad going. So no, he will not see his FAVORITE team in the land of his birth.
