As many of you have seen on Mike Doughty's blog [http://www.mikedoughty.com/blog/],
Mike has signed with ATO Records!

Mike's first release with ATO will be SKITTISH/ROCKITY ROLL -- those two albums,
remastered and packaged together with bonus tracks and new artwork.

The bonus tracks included on the new edition include two previously unreleased
outtakes from the SKITTISH sessions ("I Failed To Use It" and "Laundrytown"); two
live recordings from the 2004 Bonnaroo Music Festival ("The Only Answer" and "Move
On (Bloom Like the Sunlight in My Song)"; and "Get Along," originally written and
recorded for the independent film EVENHAND. Full tracklist is below.

Mike is currently in the studio with producer Dan Wilson (of Semisonic) putting the
finishing touches on his first full-band album of solo material, which is
tentatively slated for a Spring 2005 release by ATO.

Yeah, great stuff. Unfortunately, this stuff will be nothing like that.

some of it's great. have you listened to skittish or r/r? i thought songs like rising sign and f-train off of skittish had some power, granted not the paranoid drug-addled phrasing of s.c. stuff. r/r is mediocre, but glimpses of that kinda power.

Yeah, as I said above, I have Skittish. Haven't listened in a while though, maybe should revisit. It's certainly a decent album, but he's not doing Ruby Vroom anymore.

I saw Soul Coughing once at the Paramount in Seattle and it was amazing. Certainly in my top 10 shows of all time. M. is a hero.
