My sister is in the hospital again -- we suspect another mini-stroke. If so, that would be #4.

As always, positive vibes sent your way, T.

- had a REALLY lovely evening last night, helping my PacNW mom celebrate her birthday at an absolutely charming restaurant on the lake. Most of the women in attendance were older (60+) except for me and another woman's daughter, and we're both about the same age. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to listen to other women talk about their experiences, and I'm so blessed to have such wonderful women be part of my life, esp. right now.

- bought new Asics running shoes this weekend... planned on breaking them out for their inaugural run this morning, but decided to sleep in instead (and allergies are hitting me hard too). Cashed in on a friend discount and managed to snag them for $81.

- Louise Brooks (since I'm reading a bio and have a cool Criterion dvd about her with "Pandora's Box") was an absolutely, stunningly beautiful woman. And very smart too.

- also participated in some retail therapy this weekend... went to the used cd shop and spent a glorious hour or so in there... picked up: Beatles' "Revolver" for 2.50, Best of Nina Simone for $5, a Dolly Parton comp for $6, and a Roger Miller comp for $5. $18.50 for 4 cd's.... not bad, eh? I fell asleep last night listening to Nina Simone. And I finally used up a gift card I had for 3 new hot tops that I plan on bringing with me to NYC.

what is this - suddenly a board for fatties?

Nobody who contributes to this board is fat. Even if they are trying to lose weight (an endeavour often undertaken by those who are overweight). Not one boarder with even one thing to say. Fat is other people (who may happen to be the same height & weight  ). There are no fat obners.

- overheard the Go-Betweens' "Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express" this weekend, and remembered what an awesome album that was (I never had it on cd, only on cassette).

- can you return online Best Buy purchases to the actual store?

i've woken up almost every day for the past 10 days or so at exactly 4:56 AM to the sounds of bird sex outside the window. It drives me fucking nuts.

I, at some point, cut myself under my thumb nail and it hurts.

Being a fatty and being inspired by D, I am going to start getting up early and walking or possibly jogging. There's no way I'm doing that 5 AM crap, though.

What's the standard monetary gift for high school graduation now? $50?

I was afraid of that. I thought I had padded envelopes and, of course, it turned out I didn't, but I thought I'd try anyway.

I don't have highspeed at home, but I've been trying to upload the mix at work today and it's been a bitch. If I can't get it, I'll send you another, properly packaged.

I would wholeheartedly engage in a rousing session of sexual intercourse with this woman

- why is it the weather turns crappy right around Rose Festival? Rodney, you should know the answer being a native Oregonian.

- gosh, today sucks... just when I thought it couldn't get any suckier, BAM! Feeling very very alone and vulnerable right now, and I don't like this. at. all.

edit: oh, and ladies... have any of you ever used those stick-on bra cup type thingies? I bought 3 really cute tops this weekend... one is backless, and the other one is pretty low cut but would look ridiculous with a tank top underneath. I just wanted to research before I purchase the damn things.

My breasts would laugh at those stick on thingies!

I've wondered about them as well, but have never used them. I have plunge bras for "chesty" shirts.

Yeah so my power went out last night, and I couldn't finish these ad designs for a client. Today I told them I was behind, but would catch up mid-week. Keep in mind, this client hasn't given me ANY materials for these ads yet--I was just making it up.

Today I get an email saying that this job is "way overdue" and needs to be turned in immediately. I should probably put this in that laughing till your sides hurt thread, because these dudes is about to get the old Fuck Off.

I'm not sure, Stacey, but $50 sounds pretty generous to me.
