Yeah, apparently someone tried to charge like, $232 on my card at a Home Depot somewhere in TX...jokes on them, I was already overdrawn

- if you think about it, folks, please send some strength my way tonight... I'm gonna need it. I've got a pretty important meeting this evening that will test my strength and willpower in ways I've never imagined.

- Oregonians are odd in the sense that if it's even close to 70, they'll sit outside for lunch. Even when it's dreary, rainy and 64. I'm not a native Oregonian, ergo, I don't sit outside for lunch on chilly rainy days.

- Thinking about volunteering for the Oregon Brewers Festival this year with a girlfriend of mine... if you get in my line, I will give you more than the standard pour and a sly wink!

- in about one week, I will be in NYC.

Finally got a pair of wingtips. I LIKE!

There was an open fistfight today on the State Senate floor.

- I don't know what y'all did, but I made it through last night... a few tears, but more than anything, strength prevailed. Although my husband is now royally pissed at me. So thank you (d bows).

- it's hard getting ready for work in the morning when you feel like crying. And even harder when you can't even manage to eat a small packet of instant grits for breakfast because you have no appetite.

- while dancing this weekend, I've now decided that I'm going to be picky on dance clubs in the future. This one was primarily top 40 tuneage, but every now and then they'd throw on what I began to refer to as "white girl music"-- New Order, Madonna, Justin Timberlake.

- Hot Chip is playing tonight. I want to go, but I'm worried I just don't have the oomph to withstand another late night.

- Saw Grindhouse last night at a movie pub. I think I liked Planet Terror better than Death Proof (the actor Freddy Rodriguez is pretty cute -- I like his dark eyes-- not to be confused with the pro cyclist "Fast" Freddy Rodriguez), however, Kurt Russell was pretty bad-ass and the girls even moreso. The between-movie previews were great unto themselves. "Don't!"

- on the way to work today, I passed a truck with a huge mastiff dog in the back. I cringe when I see dogs loose in the back of trucks. This dog was so big, had his head next to the driver's side window, calmly sniffing the air. He was so cute.

- I'm amazed I have the ability to stay calm and rational when faced with adversity and threat.

This reminds me of this morning. There was a guy in the checkout line ahead of me at the grocery store. He was loading his paid-for items into his cart and I pointed out that his keys were at the bottom of the cart, next to a can of unpaid-for beans. He looked down, saw both things, grabbed the keys, thanked me and put his groceries next to the can.

He then pushed his cart out, stealing the beans. I thought for sure he would have continued the karma by annoucing he hadn't paid for the beans to the checker, but no dice. :(

What the hell are you talking about, Giant Fatlock? That day came YEARS ago, you've just been in denial.

- got a phone call last night from a friend of a friend, asking me to go see a show with her, and it turns out she's going through a lot of the same life transitions I am. I don't know why, but it made me feel somewhat at ease, knowing that someone else I know is going through the exact same rollercoaster of emotions I am. I'm sure we'll help each other out. It's this sort of thing that reminds me that I'm blessed to have the people in my life that I do, because we're all there for each other when in need.

- today, I'm feeling good, positive and at ease. I don't know why, as my life is pretty complicated right now, but I'm certainly not going to question it!!!

- I've lost 2 lbs. this week.

- tomorrow's my last day at work for the long weekend... y'all better not let my thread die. :)

- Too tired to be at work:

Didn't get home until 2AM last night(Wednesday morning technically) Should have been home around 10PM on Monday night from a quick trip East to Vermont and New Hampshire to see my sister-in-law graduate with a masters from Dartmouth, instead our flight from Burlington, VT got stuck on the Tarmac at JFK on Monday Night for 3 hours before getting to the gate, and then we ran from one end of Terminal 3 to the other end of Terminal 2 to find that our connection had just pushed away(it had been supposedly delayed until 8:05 but we were there at 7:50 and it was long gone). We then proceeded to wait in various lines around the airport (one to get rescheduled onto a 4:30PM flight to Seattle on Tuesday and the other in search of the status of our luggage)until about 10PM before spending the night at the Ramada Plaza(which, while horribly out of date, could have been a lot worse).
Went back to the airport after checking out at 11 yesterday AM and hung out until 5 when we boarded our plane thinking our ordeal was nearly over......AS IF....we proceeded to spend 5 hours on the tarmac after pushing away from the gate due to thunderstorms and limited air routes out of JFK before finally taking off at about 10PM EST - Then we spent the next 6 or so hours flying west before finally landing in Seattle around 1AM.

A couple of things I learned while waiting in lines at JFK from a pompous New Yorker:

- People in Seattle wait on lines, people in New York do not (I was wearing a Seahawks jersey)

- Apparenlty New Yorkers don't use forms of the word "fuck" anymore - I simply told the guy who walked right up past everyone and was making an ass of himself with the person working at the baggage desk that he could wait in the "fucking line" like everybody else - He told me he should have known to "expect that sort of thing" from a person like me. I simply looked at him in disbelief and pointed out that New Yorkers had more or less perfected the use of the word, so I wanted to speak to him in a language that he understood. If I'd been a little quicker on the draw I would have asked him if I would have had to wait "on line" to kick his ass or if I could just move right to the front and do it.

lol, all in all, it could have been a lot worse though - we upgraded to first class last night so we had plenty to drink and eat, and I watched a couple of movies during the wait.

D, you should be okay as long as there aren't any storms in the area you should be okay - And from the sounds of things, JFK isn't any worse than LaGuardia or Newark in terms of this......

Who are you flying? We were flying Delta and they seemed to be having more problems than some of the other airlines....

Sorry, being from Atlanta I shouldn't say this, but Delta blows giant donkey dick. I hate flying Delta. I'm flying US Air, so we'll see. It's a redeye too, so hopefully less crowded and less hectic in general.

Oh, we were well aware of Delta's suckiness....the fare was just too good to pass up when we got it - we DID fly in on Friday on a red-eye, and had no problems getting in or out that day. Make sure you have earplugs or headphones for your red-eye though, there were NO LESS than 10 screaming babies on our 5 hour flight :( Thankfully I've got a great set of headphones that filtered that out.
