bought an oatmeal-colored couch a couple months ago, it gets delivered today, the wife says it looks more sage green (i'm at work so i couldn't see it). I call the furniture company and tell them what's up, they say that we have to bring in a cushion to make sure that it's what we ordered. apparently in certain lights this thing looks different colors, something we weren't totally aware of nor were we told.

so, the wife goes in and explains all of this and the saleswoman just refuses to give and says 'that's what you bought' and wont budge on returning it or exchanging it. now, i can understand this more if we were well aware of the color changing thing at the time, and if we were able to take swatches of fabric home with us, but that's not the case. I guess they even went outside w/ the cushion, looked green. brought inside to their store, looks oatmeal.

what to do? is it worth it to go back to the store even though the old lady had no luck? put a stop on the charge on the credit card? better businesse bureau? sucks.

That said, is this like the only store in the world with no return policy? I don't get it.

also, it should be noted that we bought the couch off of looking at a dark brown one. the oatmeal color was one of the color options that we were shown (never was shown a full on oatmeal colored couch)

this is the return policy from their website. we're not even really looking for a full return, but at least an exchange, which looks like to be the only option.

Did you pay with Visa or Mastercard? If so, contest it. Call your credit card company. My friend does this all the time instead of dealing with vendors and it's always worked.

every merchant that deals in goods of that kinds impliedly warrants his goods as fit for ordinary purposes so you are probably out of luck there.

however, a seller also makes express warranties by showing samples or demonstrations. the provision of goods which do not conform to this warranty are in breach of the contract.

yep, roy's. the rug and chair we got there are great. i saw the couch tonight, and its definitely got a green hue to it. so, tomorrow i'm going to go in and talk to the manager lady. i'd better wax up the dimples because I'm going to kill her with kindness and get daddy a new couch.
