No, it really has nothing to do with trademarks (copyrights really don't come into the picture here). It's all in marketing.

I have always been partial to the standard home made Sugar Cookie.

I do have a taste every once in a while for Chocolate Cookies w/ Nestle's Peanut butter chips.

Store bought?

Matt's Chocolate Chip Cookies are good, and I also like "Nilla Wafers. )

I'm still partial to Dad's Oatmeal Cookies.

But nothing beats a ROCK HARD chocolate biscotti -- the harder the better.
