But she wanted to do a big one with the whole family and friends thing...Most little girls dream. I couldn't say no.

Congrats, Dov. Best Bad Move You Ever Made.

Today: Meetings, Meetings and more Meetings. Write a memo about Iowa. Show someone within our organization that if you think it's fuck me, then you KNOW it's fuck you. Get out of town as early as possible.

Tonite: Skip Braves v. Tigers avec Derris et al, because its just too much to get where we are staying and back down to TEH TED. Probably eat dinner someplace good that we can't get here in Bama. Drinks.

TMRW: Help our buddy Bort (not the dude that posts here whose real name is Mark, this guy is also named Bort) clean up his house and get ready for a little shindig we are hosting for Bloor and FemBloor in honour of their pending nuptials. Try not to eat too much, drink liquor til I'm out cold.

Sunday: Probably brunch, light a homeless dude on fire to make myself feel better. Limp back to Aladambama and put some fire under some serious meat.

I can understand that...but that doesn't explain the two weddings. Have you become Mexican? Catholic Mexicans do a "civil service" then plan a wedding months later in a church.

I did the same thing for insurance purposes. For the public wedding, we had a friend officiate, so that saved money on getting a rev.

This weekend: Lunch with ex-roommate and his fiancee, hang out with my parents, maybe play video games, dodge the rain.

Tomorrow, we are doing it at a restaurant, with the mayor of the town performing the ceremony. We got a private room, fixed menu, nice cake, and 18 of our closest relatives.

Basically, we are doing it:
1) Will make certain family members very happy.
2) Health insurance purposes (hers currently sucks, and mine is great).
3) tax purposes.

So, while we will be married and have a nice private gathering, she always wanted to do the big ole wedding with extended family, friends, etc...So, thats coming in the Fall of next year...

I'm very excited. thanks for the kind words everyone.

Tonight:

Probably hit the Braves/Tigers game then maybe meet Loogar/FemGar out along with some other friends for drinks. Sleep at a decent hour.

Tomorrow:

Sleep in. Get oil changed. Go pick up catering for Bloor's engagement party/shower. Eat, Drink, Be Merry. Oh and school some folks in Bocce Ball, terrain permitting.

Sunday: Sleep in and recover. Going to see matinee of "Once" at the local arthouse cinema. Cook up some dinner and chill.

I just realized this morning that this weekend is Atlanta Pride Weekend so I will be avoiding the park like the plague. Not because of the gay folks but because of the clusterfuck of closed streets and 300,000 people causing massive traffic jams.

I'm back in Ontario visiting the family. Picked up a stack of ribs in Thunder Bay last night and am planning on starting grilling early afternoon and not leaving all day. Dad kindly picked me up a couple of cases of 50 so I'm literally in hog heaven.

Sat/Sun: repeating the above with pulled pork and burgers.
