That's pretty much my hell.

I like nearly all those songs, but it certainly is the chirpy end of Brit stuff. No rough boys allowed, apparently.

the only caveat to all of this: it seems to be the "hits" only, which is always a problem when compiling box sets of genres. This is the sort of thing that you can get elsewhere.

True, but how many "deep cuts" do you think could really be pulled from a lot of the 2nd/3rd wave bands? Britpop was always at its best with the singles anyhow, save maybe 7-8 bands.

And in the case of Blur, they didn't go with a "hit," though that's one of my favorite songs, period.

"I Want to Touch You" is off Ferment. Is there anything earlier than that?

Yeah, I wasn't too sure what Saint was on about there either - wasn't "touch you" on an ep before Ferment was recorded?

Here's retarded: I'd prefer they include something from Chrome and eschew the Ferment love altogether (yes, even at the expense of black metallic).

i love chrome and ferment... oh what i would give for another CW album in the vein of those. chrome is criminally underrated.

Actually, I'd buy this collection except I have all those albums already. Dalen did a really good early 90's brit mix awhile back too.

I'm surprised at some of the omissions. But it looks good to me.

I did the same thing with Ride. "What, no Ride? Are you retarded?!"

Then I saw Ride right there and shamed myself.

I like the genre, honest, but can't imagine getting through any of these discs without irritation. About 1/4 of it is good, and I have the bulk of that. Left of the Dial about 40x better.

I mean, babybird? Really? Can't we all just forget about that sort of thing?

Holy fuck a Thousand Yard Stare track. I thought myself and Matthew Page were the only fans they ever had. It seemed like that after all the miles we covered in his VW van following them around on tour.

What was their deal? I must've picked up a TYS used CD a billion times over the years but I never investigated further. School me...
