I would've let her cry to death in the bathroom before signing that waiver.

so getting married means your life is over? her parents are speaking about her as if she just got decapitated in an accident and she'll never walk again or something.

Well, I'm comforted in the fact that at least in the picture that accompanies the story, he doesn't have the "crazy in the eyes" or anything.

You know, those parents were way too soft.

1) You find text messages? Confiscate her phone.
2) You find emails? You don't let her on the internet.
3) She withdrew? Won't talk to you? Fine. Let her. You can survive without her talking to you.
4) She gives you something to sign? don't sign

It was very telling that the parents were expecting other people to help them... the school, the police, etc. Really, they just needed to buck up and act like parents. Now they're all angry and saying things that, if Windy reads them, could destroy her life more than this marriage.

I actually read the article this time ( just kinda scanned it the first ) ...this is all on the parents. The whole thing is their fault. Basically, they signed the papers because their daughter would be mad at them if they didn't. She's a 16 year old girl - she's SUPPOSED TO BE MAD AT HER PARENTS. As Ren Hoek would say, "It's nature's way".

Good Gawd...I've never had a kid, & never will. And even I know how to handle this situation better than these fucknuts did.

I think that my old high school used to play this team in sports. I'm not surprised that this happened in rural NC

Y'see, I'm a forty year-old baseball coach. The temptations are overwhelming in the case that you are a halfway decent-looking man. You have to go into this thing with the decision already made. No. Otherwise....uh,....you could be hittin' some sixteen year-old? Wait, why am I not on welfare?
