Did you buy it from Roy's? They're on Sheffield, I think. THEY SUCK.

Let's burn their store down. I'll meet you at Schubas (we gotta drink first) in an hour.

yep, roy's. the rug and chair we got there are great. i saw the couch tonight, and its definitely got a green hue to it. so, tomorrow i'm going to go in and talk to the manager lady. i'd better wax up the dimples because I'm going to kill her with kindness and get daddy a new couch.

WTF. You must not have been living in Chicago (or near Lincoln & Wrightwood) in the late 90s. There were "DON'T SHOP AT ROY'S!" signs all over Lincoln Park. Handmade, neon signs. Someone should've burned that place down years ago.

And yeah, your dimples could probably make the Pope eff a tranny. You should at least get an exchange out of the deal.

No, No, he's quite right.

And yeah, I have seen this dude a bunch of times. Never been to the Flea Market that's just like a mini mall, tho. Maybe next time Bloor is in town, we can do some recon. (He is usually more heavily armed than me, and we're gonna need that)

God, that Rick James shit was hilarious.

More to the point, I'ma throw out a guess that they're very used to playing hardball, based on the ill will Red and others have for them. They'll probably try and stonewall you. Because to them, all they have to do is act like bastards for 5 or 6 minutes, and they get to keep your money without any hassle.

If you like the couch, maybe you could get it reupholstered in different fabric?

Or buy a sofa cover -- they make really nice ones now, not that "looks like a sheet hung over my couch" look.

You could probably even dye the existing fabric oatmeal and do it yourself. The shit is just held on with staples.

reupholstering is def an option, but from what i've been told the cost to reupholster sometimes costs as much or more than the couch you bought. but that's just only talking to a few people.

heh, i actually talked this this guy once the debacle came up on wednesday. i told him our situation and the first thing he answered with was 'lemme guess, you got it from Roy's didn't you?' christ.

but now we're way past this couch thing. there's more important issues to address like just how the hell am i going to situate that attic to my liking?

so this is what its like to be old.
