Not sure if I should post this, but... it can just sink to the bottom, if y'all choose to ignore it. No need to respond, I just thought I would post this since it seems to have manifested itself here, too.

I had a really good day yestarday.
I was in a great mood -- happy and pretty-well carefree.

My wife noticed, too.
"Todd? Did you take your pills this morning?"

No. I hadn't. I forgot.

"I can tell. You just seem too happy. You have too much energy. I was kinda afraid of that. You can really tell the difference."

Good day. Might be worth a seizure or two to have more good days like that.
But for now, it's back on The Dope.

I always love when crazy people refuse to take their meds.

It's actually anticonvulsants, not any sort of crazy person stuff.

Like I'm stoned, but not good, if that makes sense (and without the munchies).
And then I'm tired the rest of the day.

And Plates: it's called Trileptal.

I actually do pop some kinda upper to counteract the tiredness. It kinda works, I suppose. But not enough.

Gives a new spin on my screen name, I suppose, eh?

Trileptal is a carbamazapine drug from memory

Pretty much all the different classes of antiepileptics/anticonvulsants have some hypnotic effects (thats you feeling stoned) and sedative effects

I dont know what youre taking them for exactly but you could talk to your doc about different types of drugs

I am taking them as antiseizure meds.
And I have talked to my doc about alternatives. I was on Dilantin right after my surgery and that REALLY fucked me up bad. I turned MEAN and even violent on occasion.

Been with my neuro for >12 years and trust him implicitly. He's keeping a lookout for effective alternatives.

Yes. But not right after taking the meds. Only after I've "come down".

I'm sure having a great wife & two great kids, plus playing in a band, plus having a decent job (architect? or is that just timmyjoe42?) makes the 'scripts worth it.

I'm versatile. Sometimes, I'm jackin' it. Others, I'm tear-jerkin' 'em (my eyes).

Huh. I was on Dilantin for my seizures for years. It wired me like nothing else. But at least it made me happy. Hell, I know they've started using them as anti-depressants for people nowadays because of it.

I guess it just must depend on the person's chemical system and how they handle the drugs.
