My wife moved to Saskatoon this week and I won't be seeing her for about 3 months, so it's my first Friday as a single fella and I'm starting early today.

Jack and coke right now.

I get to leave work early today and I've got a 6 pack cooling in the fridge at home just waiting for my arrival.

I'm home sick from work, so it's orange juice for me.

the debate: stay at work a few more hours or go home, but not get paid as much?

off work early, meeting friends and wife at bar for happy hour, drinking heavily, karaoke without the machine, more drinks, kisses, slaps on the ass, last call, smooch smooch, bye, cab home, kick off shoes, kablap!, snooze.

i'm taking a break. (yes, it's true)

dear alcohol,

after so many years of good times (yet so few memories), i think it's time that you and i take some time off from each other. i don't think this relationship is healthy. it's only for the best, you know what they say- "distance makes the heart grow fonder."

if you don't continue to make this madness stop, i will declare it off for GOOD... but right now, i need to "find myself." it's not you, it's me.

love,
dri

p.s. i will miss you, but never fear, i shall be back. you know ex-sex is always the best.

You know yr. just setting yourself up for failure, right?

I'll get drunk on something later, for now, I'm huffing Dust Remover...so much better than Krylon. It doesn't giveyou the tell-tale ring of paint around your mouth and nose, and they don't keep it locked up like they do the silver and gold cans of spraypaint.

actually, at the modest mouse show on tuesday night, i had ONE beer. and that's it. then last night at my co-worker's going away party, i didn't drink. this clarity thing is really working... i'm not going to quit drinking completely- i love my booze way too much, i just need to take a break for a few. don't worry, i'll be back. ;)

Dri, that's actually a good idea. I went off the sauce for December and it was actually kinda refreshing to go out to bars and be the lucid one. I also saved money and practically quit smoking. The only problem was that my insomnia came back at me like a sledgehammer. The return, however, was glorious. enjoy it!

My next batch of beer isn't done carbonating yet, so I have a Real Ale Brewing Company (Blanco, Texas) sampler 6er waiting for me at home. Not much to do anoche, so I might spark up some of my remaining reminder of dear sweet Oregon . . . but then again, the new job that I really want and just applied for might require a peepee test.

well, you'll probably be leaving early, 'cause the new album really isn't very good.

tell them to play the new dark tranquility for you instead. :D

I have about 20 Bridgeport IPA's waiting in the fridge, left over from my super bowl party - along with a ton of Gin, Vodka, and Tequila.

it could be a long weekend my friends.

Why would anyone drink at home?

You should only drink to help you dance in public, ask girls out or give you super monkey-like jumping and climbing skills. I can't imagine a need for any of these at your own place.
