MC 900 Ft. Jesus: One Step Ahead of The Spider

Interesting album full of disparate ideas. It's kinda hip hop, kinda jazzy, yet I remember the guy touring with Severed Heads around the time this came out. Not sure where to classify this one, but should mention that the comedic hit If I Only Had A Brain isn't really representative of the mood of the rest of the album. Mostly, things groove on at a mid tempo with lots of jazz instrumentation and some swirling electronics with spoken word vocals laid over the top.

it's close. i think i'll keep either dog day or pumpkins this week and give the other 1 more shot next week. dog day starts off strong & momentum fades near the last couple tracks.

I haven't listened to this in over 2 years probably.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it today.
