But that song and "Public Pervert" are probably (other than "Roland") the two best songs they've done so far. solid follow-up.

I won't hijack yr Interpol love-thread any further. I gave a Reader's Digest impression in the Saturday tune thread at AK yesterday.

This thread could use a good hijacking! Hey, that does sound good. Meat Puppets, eh? Now there's a band that doesn't come up much anymore since Kurt Cobain left the building. I still remember looking through those SST brochures in the 80s and ordering Meat Puppets and Minuetmen and Husker Du records. Couldn't find them at the locals. Felt kind of like a wierdo, but that's the life of a music junkie. Can I go ahead and dump what you said below? Oops, I already did, hope you don't mind ;)

The Anomoanon ~Joji~ This is Bonnie Prince Billy's brother Ned Oldham and his band's latest release- tinges of Neil & Crazy Horse, CSNY harmonies, a little jamming reminscent of the Dead (but thankfully not too much), mebbe some of the best parts of Meat Puppets thrown in there as well. Me like.

Interpol will never top the first four songs on TOTBL

Shit, man, we could make a big ol' list of post-punkers that couldn't top that. (Does that include Untitled?)

I've really been digging Antics alot more lately. It's sort of like a clone of TOTBL with tighter instrumentation and less reverb In some ways, it's better than the first one (come on, fess up, who really liked the end of "The New"? )

....I thought everyone fucking hated Interpol here. :?

Derivative, and not an improvement of that of which they are derivative.

Derivative is not, in and of itself, a fault, but when that's the best thing you can say about them...

I love their first album, but really don't care for Antics.

Untitled is the best one

Antics is okay but what I loved about the first one was the effects-heavy guitar interplay, which was toned down for unfortunately.
