I usually don't care about these awards shows, but I'm glad that two of my favorite albums of 2004, Kanye West's College Dropout and Usher's Confessions, are up for Album of the Year. They made #2 and #4 on my Top-20 of 2004, respectively.

Alicia Keys has a fantastic album released in 2003 also up for the same award. I can't comment on Green Day because I haven't heard their album yet, but I've been told it's also a breath of fresh air.

I just saw Loretta win I think her 1st grammy. It was pretty cool to see her feel honored to win yet Jack White was a "southern" gentleman in total deference and wonder to be a part of Loretta's history. Very genuine. Very cool. And by no means am I some huge Whites Stripes fan or anything. Just a short authentic moment.

We just remembered it was on and for lack of nothing else to watch after Unscripted ended, I turned it on.

Just in time to A) see John Mayer sing B) see Lisa Marie Presley scare me as usual and C) Holy Crap! Wilco won Best Alternative Album!! Of course that last part wasn't shown it was just shown in the scroll at the bottom of the screen.

But still, guess I'm kinda proud of them. Just cause I love em.

This "Across the Universe" is frightening, but what can you do.
