I'm not getting dick for V-day. My wife is, however. That's it, though. Hey, we're building a house and she's getting some very nice bath fixtures.

The only thing I hate more than Valentine's Day is Anniversary. I love my wife completely, but I hate the pressure gift thing.

I get a Dr's appt for Valentines Day. Lucky me.

I like Valentine's Day normally, this one bites the big one though.

I am getting my son a present though. Probably a stuffed animal or something and chocolate. He'll be happy.

those are some sweet knives. right now we have a few scattered nice ones but they're all over the place brand-wise. it'd be nice to have a complete set.

maybe I can pick up another single, lonely, female there.

I plan on bringing boxes of chocolates and candy.

My Valentine Day? Well, a girl called me ugly in a street confrontation. Nice.

Anyway I've come home, alone, to feel self-pitious in my bedroom.

At least Amazon loves me , they finally got round to sending me my James Kirk CD. 'You Can Make It If You Boogie'? Let's hope so.

Normally being alone on Valentine's Day doesn't annoy me, but this year, I think it will a little.

I'll probably buy myself something.

Same here - but at least I could tell it was going to get to me this year. Therefore, taking the day off work to pay a bill or 2, then heading to the gym (despite the fact that I'm sore from playing kickball all day yesterday) sounds like a good mind-avoidance technique for me...

The plan for this evening is not leaving my room and some generalized avoidance...

That is all..

i did that last year, and topped it off with some vicky's secret and some other crap and she got me bupkus. i told her that this year i'm not doing shit (other than dinner) and i'm sticking with that, no matter what she thinks. still, the massage thing is a great standby that i have used many times.

I intend to celebrate my Valentine's Day without a girlfriend by eating the rest of my chocolate covered espresso beans and listening to Usher's Confessions.

I, too, am celebrating Single's Awareness Day, rather than V-Day. I am doing it by staying in my pajamas, cleaning my apartment, and goofing on the internet (doing online research of, oddly enough, mattresses...). I might eat dinner tonight, but maybe not, it depends on if I feel like making anything. There's also a chance that I might take a shower. And maybe go to the Love Sucks party down at the Lunch Paper tonight.

Technically, why should a Protestant or non-Christian feel any obligation to mark Valentine's Day? Maybe, but just maybe, if dating a Catholic, but otherwise...? I am almost positive the Protestant array of saints if severely limited -- just the apostles, save Judas, and maybe also John the Baptist --, and a Muslim or Buddhist -- what's in it for them?

I am serious.

If there's such an extensive movement to put Christ back in Christmas, and put the C back in Channukah, how come there isn't a movement to make ST. Valentine's Day truer and more precise to its origin?

What gives?

The girlfriend and I are making dinner at her place. Didn't want to deal with reservations and whatnot. Although we both say we don't care about Valentine's Day, we end up buying each other something and spending way more money than we should but if I don't do that I'm a pig so better safe than sorry. I hate this holiday.

Same here. My man & I had planned to just have a snowball fight or go toboganing... but then it rained... so it's cooking at home and acting goofy.

This time of year is so ridiculous.
'Round these cold, grey parts this time of year most people are already in their own personal state of lowness...

Whether you're single or with someone it always seems like Valentine's day just draws attention to and emphasize the weirdness of this season.

I'm getting married on March 5, so, I have to do this one right.

I completely cleaned the house this morning and then went to the market where I picked up the necessaries to make grill one of phil's steak recipes this evening.

its 74 degrees and sunny here in a-tx today and di takes her bridal photos tomorrow (forecast calls for more of the same), so, i think i'm in pretty good shape.
