Yes it does. I wonder what the bonus features are.

Saw that on The Digital Bits. Looks really good, except that I already have Ssn1 & 2 on DVD. This is what I hate about movie studios...inevitably there will be a better version of things on DVD.

Speaking of Lynch, I got from Netflix Inland Empire, but haven't watched it yet. Fucker is 3 hrs long. Looks like a Sunday afternoon might be ripe for this.[/url]

You cannot watch IE in daylight. It simply isn't something that's done. It's best experienced late at night, preferrably drifting in and out of consciousness. Oh man, so so good that way.

I'll probably make that Twin Peaks set a week-after birthday present to myself. Never seen the show, so I'm going to totally gorge on it.

Bob, this is all the more reason you have to make it out to the Seattle area sometime - they filmed Twin Peaks about 15 miles from our place (the falls and town are about 1/2 hour east of Seattle)

just remember to stop watching once they find the killer.

How does Inland Empire rate against Lynch's other stuff?

The most difficult, unaproachable thing he's done, and I say that in the best way possible. Grueling, baffling, startling, terrifying, and sad. Best described as a cross between Lost Highway and Mulholland with less (immediate) narrative. Dern is unbelievable; Lynch's cow-on-the-corner Oscar campaign was amusing kitsch at the time, but he was in the right: she deserved a nom.

His decision to shoot on digital seems pretty harsh at first, but it really does work so well for the movie.

So much for ordering the pilot on e-bay from Hong Kong five years ago and waiting God-knows-how-long for Season 2

Some of the extras look OK, though.
Quote:
Paramount Home Entertainment has announced Twin Peaks: Definitive Gold Box Edition which includes all 29 episodes plus both the original and European versions of the pilot. The 10-disc set will be available to own from the 30th October. Extras will include a Log Lady Intro For Pilot International Version With Alternate Ending, Log Lady Intros for each episode, A Slice of Lynch featurette, a Northwest Passage: Creating The Pilot featurette, a Freshly Squeezed: Creating Season 1 featurette, a Where We're From: Creating The Music featurette, and an Into The Night: Creating Season 2 featurette. Completing the package will be Saturday Night Live Featuring Kyle MacLachlan (Monologue and Twin Peaks Sketch), a Return To Twin Peaks feature, an Interactive Map, a "Falling" Music Video, Georgia Coffee Commercials (5 Spots), image galleries, and TV spots.

If I recall correctly (and I always do in these situations), this marked Chris Farley's very first appearance on the show, playing Leo Johnson.

Correct. Chris Rock's debut as well I believe, though I don't remember him at all in the episode.

There weren't any THEM in Twin Peaks. Hawk was the only minority allowed.

I kept feeling like Agent Cooper for a while when my boss was trying to get me to dictate to tape and have the secretary type it up instead of just typing it out myself.

And, I'm pretty sure the secretary was wondering why I kept calling her Diane.

Still not sure he wasn't better in Showgirls...but Twin Peaks was fun.

If only it had been Sharilyn Fenn or Madchen Amick nakedly humping his leg during a lap dance, instead of Horseface McGee...

Hmm, never seen "Inland Empire" so I'm gonna have to check that one out. I made a recommendation to Fu the other day to see "The Straight Story." Very much different from typical Lynch fare, but oh so good and oh so effective. I love his use of quiet. Richard Farnsworth is so good in that movie.

I hate David Lynch so much, none of you can even fathom the depths.

Complete and Utter GARbage.

(Sorry Dana, The Straight Story moved so slow, I had to turn it off, and I love the old dude who was the main character. If your gimmick is making an actual movie that is comprehensible, it would help to move it along a bit.)

Not so much Amick, but I did have a good sized crush on Fenn.

I meant 'debut as an SNL regular,' but thanks for that. Classic clip... in a movie where Jim Brown can't run and Isaac Hayes can't sing.

yeah, I figured, but by then I had that clip in my head.

according to imdb, his debut was actually beverly hills cop as the valet at the playboy mansion.
