I thought that it was very derivative at first, but it gets better with every listen now. As for the Brother Kite, uhhhhh, not so much. Still derivative, but with the opposite long-term impact.

what is your favorite track?

mine is "future foe scenarios" hands down

Next best is Lazy Eye, then Three Seed, then Well Thought Out Twinkles. I love this album the way I loved Alligator last year. Easily my favorite of the year.

Thanks Timis.

hmmm... after 1st listen, my initial thoughts are:

Album of the Year... of 1992. Very My Bloody Val; Smashing Pumpkins; Veruca Salt.

Still pretty rocking; but kind of surprising they are getting so much attention.

It ain't no joke that 1990-94 produced some of the best music ever. 1992 is a GOOD thing.

This stuff is good.
I don't usually like stuff with a female singer, but this is great.

i AGREE.....

i do think silversun is very pumpkin-esque which is a GREAT thing in my books.....

as i was sending out PMs my subject was SP abbreviated for
Silversun Pickups which happens to be the same abbreviation for Smashing Pumpkins.
coincidence? probably

now my only wish is to see them on the Coachella 2007 lineup or even SXSW ;)

i see them playing sxsw more than coachella. although i wouldn't be surprised if they did play coachella.... they've had a good local following here for awhile. last year at cmj was when the buzz started catching on outside of la and then this year at cmj everyone was all about sspu.

good for them. they deserve it.

Does anyone have the two b-sides that were on their singles?

I'm looking for:

Table Scraps

&

Mercury

I listened to these guys tonight with my girl... but yes... just Lazy Eye. It was a good album that I listened to TONS, but it didn't stand the test of time.

For me anyway.

yeah, I actually ended up wearing this out for a while. It's still in the car, but it hasn't seen the inside of the cd player in a while.

I probably wore it out a little bit, but for the most part it still holds up pretty good.

does the dude or the chick sing, or both? Cause this friend of mine swears it's just a dude with a girl's voice. I've only heard that little lovers song and one other, and i'm pretty sure it's a girl.

Can someone clear this up for me?

it's the musical equivalent of a man in a dress trying to pick up straight dudes. It's the dishonesty that i don't like.
