All this talk of red hair reminds me of a couple brothers I know. They both have red hair and refer to themselves as "gingers" sometimes. The older brother's girlfriend started talking about this at work one day. One of her co-workers was slightly offended and said something about how "ginger" is a slur. So now the brothers use words like "whinger" to refer to people who dye their hair red.

I think I want a trench coat for winter. Black? Khaki? Full length? Mid-thigh length?

oh and "ginger" is not offensive as far as I know. It just means "orangish."

Yeah, I think the person who said it was a slur is crazy.

Speaking of, can somebody provide me with some closure on whether or not "Oriental" is offensive or not? Because it only refers to how maps used to be laid out... not exactly a slur. But my wife thinks it's slanderous.

Mid length, black or navy blue.

(Khaki looks too much like what the Brits would call a "Mac" or raincoat. I guess you could go with one of those, but I dunno if it would provide the warmth you want. Though, a khaki Burberry one would be TEH HOTT)

Nice.

Reviewing some NY Fashion Week stuff... a friend sent me the link to Carmen Marc Valvo's collection, which is inspired by "sea sirens." I'm kinda digging a lot of this daywear stuff. Totally dig the wide belts and the whispery lines.

oh, and in case you hadn't noticed... military styling will be "in" this year. I love that stuff, but after a year, it looks stupid and doesn't come out of the closet again until 3-4 years later.

I got bit by some South American insect on my right calf and my left ankle. Shit looks nasty -- all purple-y and sore. Have a doctor's appointment. Hopefully, I don't have some sort of strange South American infection.
