I live on a one way street and people bike the wrong way down it all the time. One day I was walking home from the train when I saw a fight break out between a bicyclist and a guy in a car. Foot and car traffic was heading east on the street and the guy in the car was looking to make a eastbound turn out of an alley. He let the cars and people pass and went to make his turn. This guy on a bike was riding westbound and was almost hit by the car turning left. Bike guy starts flipping out and is like, "YOU NEED TO LOOK BOTH WAYS!" and I agree that he needs to look both ways, but what the fuck? If you see a car is coming and the driver obviously does not see you, why be a dick and risk getting hit? Just slow down and when the driver finally notices you, say something or just chalk it up to another person not paying attention.

it's the bicyclist's responsibility to be aware of law-abiding traffic and yield to it. there is no reason why a person needs to bike more than a block on a one-way street.

HAHAHA

I thought the same thing. He was two "Ting"s and two "La"s away from full-blown plagiarism.

This is an enormous irritant. It's worse when it's at a friend's house. It's all you can do to not say "godammit why does everyone look like He-Man?"

amature.

You go anyway, nibble at it, and take it to go. Especially if you get a pasta dish. They reheat well, and they're usually the size of 2 meals for me at most TGI McScratchy's-style chain places.

acceptable.

(says the guy who's about to go either crash a catered meeting or "liberate" a forgotten frozen dinner from the community fridge)

Hey Spanish speakers....why do Spanish speakers answer the phone by saying Bueno instead of Hola or some other form of hello? Or is this just a Mexican thing?

I know...that was one of my questions, because the people I call who all do this are also all Mexican...was wondering if other Spanish speakers do this as well or not...and if so why. Just linguistic curiosity.

you need to look both ways on the side walk for pedestrians, you DON'T have to look both ways for cars or bikes coming down a one way street. The fact that most bikers yell at you when you almost hit them because of some dumb shit they did makes me even more livid.

It's the "taking up the whole lane" thing that strikes me as pointless, wasteful, and more than a little dangerous. I want bikes to use the road, but ignoring their top speed limitation is dumb. Having all traffic slow down to 20mph isn't the solution.
