people who ride the wrong direction on one way streets make me so livid.
I live on a one way street and people bike the wrong way down it all the time. One day I was walking home from the train when I saw a fight break out between a bicyclist and a guy in a car. Foot and car traffic was heading east on the street and the guy in the car was looking to make a eastbound turn out of an alley. He let the cars and people pass and went to make his turn. This guy on a bike was riding westbound and was almost hit by the car turning left. Bike guy starts flipping out and is like, "YOU NEED TO LOOK BOTH WAYS!" and I agree that he needs to look both ways, but what the fuck? If you see a car is coming and the driver obviously does not see you, why be a dick and risk getting hit? Just slow down and when the driver finally notices you, say something or just chalk it up to another person not paying attention.
Yes, it's a very simple matter of survival instinct.

- Two shitters for a floor full of like 75 employees = not enough.

But imagine being the janitorial staff that has to clean those two.

I think you're getting off comparatively easy.

Oh, yeah, & to make this thoroughly random, Monty-worthy random, I doubt any of the head cleaners look as good as Playboy's Miss Sept '07 (Patrice Hollis, in case you want to google her, &/or have a thing for the sisters), who was a cleaning-lady at the NV DMV in Las Vegas before scoring her modelling break.

Scrubbing toilets to playboy... helluva turnaround.

My next raise discussion is going to feature the topic of private shitters. I think I'd take one of those before I'd take more money.

On the elevator this morning, trying to finish my newspaper. Fellow employee jumps on the car with me....All we ever do is exchange pleasantries....No bad will at all. Just no real reason to engage in any more chatter.....He brings up the weather and the forecast for the weekend... I want to read my paper.

Synopsis: If the only topic you can think of to talk to someone about is the weather, then just let them read their paper.

Elevators make people feel like they have to chitchat. Close proximity means "we're all friends."

The deep "sigh" i only partially tried to hide when i heard the word 'forecast' come out of his mouth, hopefully started to reverse that trend.

he is a good guy. I have no beef. Just no need for chat for the sake of chat.

My go-to move in that situation is a rigid policy of "no eye contact." You can be as pleasant as possible verbally, but DO NOT LOOK UP FROM THE PAPER. That way you're not a dick - you're talking to them - but it's clear that you were already doing something and you'd like to keep doing it.

Maybe for the rest of the day, every person I see in the elevator, I'll say with a snarky grin, "T.G.I.F, ay???"

I would do this, but I would say it while staring directly at them with your eyes as wide open as you can get them, no grin. And put a big, uncomfortably drawn-out pause between "F" and "....eh?"

My old office was this way. During construction to add more, they had an air-conditioned trailer bathroom (full plumbing, elec, etc) in the parking lot. Imagine having to walk outside to do your business.

I've noticed none of the Mods or Admins read the MODS ONLY forum.

While I was on vacation, the power and plumbing went out in my building. They were sending people to do their business at the building next door. I am SO glad I was not here during that time.

I'm just now reading this. You don't need to move. Those no-talent ass-clowns need to move. ;)

Sister sent me this description for a movie she "needs to see.":

Quote:
Overview for Master of the World (1961)
Brief Synopsis:

A mad genius tries to bomb the world into peace.

you crazy, man.

You don't look both ways before pulling out onto a one way street? What if there's an old lady in the middle of the road who tripped on a pothole and is just laying there? You don't look before turning and you're going to run that granny over.

I look every direction all the time. Always. I also assume everyone is trying to kill me.

's part of being a good motorcyclist.

You know, with all the fat slobs out there, you would think Wal Mark could make their aisles big enough for traffic to go both ways down them.

Also, I fuckin love crazy ass old dudes. Saw a guy straight rocking the Doc from Back to the Future Hair, and one of those old man shirts with the elastic around the bottom. I guess at some point you REALLY stop caring.

I guess the flipside would be styling it into a bob and getting fashionable. I think, all in all, the former is a better statement.

dude on the subway yesterday was in his late 60's from the looks of him, and was rockin' a killer pair of rapper tennis shoes (fabric looked like a lady's purse or something, but felty), plus track suit, gold earrings, and some chains. ....like alllllmost to the point where you wanna go have a beer with him to find out what he does / did for a living, because old white men don't dress like that without cause. usually.

Today is going soooooooooooooooooooooooo frickin' slow! After having yesterday off for Rosh Hashanah (I'm not Jewish in case you're wondering), the offices are half empty.

I'm going home early today. I know, I know...unheard of!!

If I had local friends, I'd invite 'em to go out for martinis at the local gay bar.

HEY, COTTON!! Pick up Cottonelle and meet me in LA for drinks. I'll drive you two home (after I've sobered up).
