Apparently Crocs are good for crossing streams or rivers in if you are an aspiring Grizzly Adams mountain man hiker type. Light enough to carry around and saves you crossing bare foot.

I think I'd still be embarrassed to wear them even if there was no one around for miles.

I don't personally own a pair
but I have tried them on and they are quite comfy.
they are hideous to look at,
but a lot of docs like them not because of their stylish mainstream trendiness
but because of the ventilation
and the ease of cleaning via dishwasher.
there are more attractive alternatives that have similar comfort
but they're more expensive and have issues with cleanliness.
all in all they're just fuckin' shoes.

Yeah, it's worth a few cuts on the foot.

First time I saw them, I assumed it was a chef on an errand. Then they spread to, as Jerkass has pointed out, nurses and the like.

Then I started seeing them on otherwise normally attired individuals, and I knew they were a sign of the apocalypse.

I see these all over the place. Pay Less now has Airwalk brand. My personal favorite is seeing the camo variety on the hunters around here. Seriously.

Excluding job interviews, I have worn nothing but brown crocs for the past three months solid.

I am not proud.

I wonder if college kids wear them in the showers as "shower shoes" now instead of flip flops?

I tried a pair on a couple of weeks ago. They were weird.

I guess I could see how they're comfortable if one is standing all day, but what about the sweaty feet issue? Does no one slide around in those things?

My wife's sister's family (husband and two girls) all have matching crocs from Disneyworld. All the little holes are shaped like mouse ears. My bro-in-law really let me down when I saw him in a pair of those.

My almost 2 year old daughter has a tiny pair of pink ones. They are about 2 inches long and very cute on her.

I see adults in the mall wearing huge yellow and orange ones and think, wtf is wrong with you? Then I notice they are also wearing zuba pants and have mullets.

I hate these things.
My mom insisted on getting a pair for me for Father's Day, instead of the gift cert. to the local guitar shop that I was hoping for. The one thing that they did come in handy for was wading into Lake Michigan during our family vacation to Traverse City this summer. Didn't have to step on all the sharp rocks, and I could help my kids over the same.

But yeah, they're ugly and the fact that they're made from plastic actually makes my feet sweat instead of keeping 'em "comfortable" as everyone claims they do.

I'm wearing a pair of $20 leather sneakers that are more comfortable than my Hush Puppies. Now that is fucking stellar.

Here's a little tidbit of info I got from an email from Jim Gaffigan today...

Besides the general content, the bolded word may give Loog a little bit of ground to stand on for some sort of copyright infringement...or something...

Jim Gaffigan Wrote:
No more crocs:
Somewhere along the way this summer, adult men decided they would look good in those shoes obviously designed for toddlers or Martha Stewart. They were wrong and unfortunately it will take a change of season to get the dorks out of these garish eyesores. Maybe when it’s a little chillier we won’t have to be subjected to the 40-year-old guy in purple Crocs. Unfortunately, we are now entering “the men in clogs” part of the year, immediately followed by the even more upsetting “Men in Uggs” season. Ugg! I don’t care if “They’re comfy”. You look like you robbed a teenage girl.

Had I known these things piss people off so badly, I'd have at least 3 pairs by now.
