Your girlfriend says, "You don't eat regularly, you have a drinking problem, and you never get a yearly checkup from a doctor. You aren't sleeping well at all."

And you reply with,

But on the plus side, I knocked over the Sunsphere.

My roommate and I watch Simpsons at least twice a day and reference it at every opportunity (several times a day). I think it has taken over my life.

When I was effectively fired last week, my first thought was "Shit! I'll have to pilfer from my meagre life savings to buy Simpsons Season 5, released March 12th".

If I'm driving along and see something happen to someone (like a skater wiping out), I can't resist doing the Nelson thing. "Haa haaa!"

Season 5 is must-have . I have it on DVD and was shocked at how many classic episodes fall within that season. If one is a Simpsons fan, you cannot do without this season.

"Increase my killing power, eh?"

My roommates try to work this into a conversation at least once a day.

I saw the Max Power epsiode the other day and it cracked me up:

Marge: But I married Homer Simpson! I don't want to snuggle with Max Power!

Homer/Max Power: You don't snuggle with Max Power. You strap yourself in and feel the G's!!

Even though the creative level has dipped in recent years, it's still the show that informed my sense of humor more than any other.

[The Max Power song]
Max Power, he has the name that you want to touch,
but you musn't touch!
His name sounds good in your ear,
but when you hear it, you mustn't fear.
Cause his name can be said,
in many different ways...

I loved when Homer wanted to date Debbie Pinson in that episode. That's my wife's favourite comment to me "No Dating!!!"

I know this isn't a "hey let's quote the simpsons thread, but I love this:

(man collapses)
Marge: quick someone perform CPR
Homer: "I see a bad moon rising.."
Marge: CPR, not CCR
Homer: "I see trouble on the way.."

There's the right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way!

Isn't that the wrong way?

Yes, but it's faster.

And also how the college girls think she lives at a frat house because Homer is drinking and being loud and a keg gets tossed out of the house.

Besides, I have Greatest American Hero to keep me company for a few more days...
