.... is usually me. and once i found out about flickr.com, i finally got around to posting some of the better ones for all to see. only when i say all, i basically mean myself to check incessantly to see how many people have looked at them and if they left any comments. they can be found here.

post yours, too. NOW.

I don't get Flickr. Why are the images displayed as Flash objects instead of JPEGs or whatever? Are there cool Flash-based features enabled when people login or something?

Nice pictures, though.

i have a friend who routinely takes in excess of 50 pics at a show. that's just too much. i usually pull out my camera and snap a dozen away during the first song, then maybe get it out again near the end if i think they'll do something photo-worthy.

i flickr too, but i have a shaky hand at shows and only a few of those pics ever come out well. oh well. nice photos, though.

see, my camera can't handle the extreme distances between myself and the drummer and/or far side band member, typically the bassist. i've got plenty of attempts of these pictures on my computer, but they very rarely come out the way i'd like them to.

i've always wondered...what is the general policy on bringing your camera into a show? can i bring in my SLR, or do they only allow compact cameras? or is it totally dependent on the venue?

i've only had problems with the occasional major label artist, but, at least in the clubs in dc, no one has ever had an issue. i think it's usually a combination of venue and artist policy. for example, stephen malkmus allowed strictly NON-FLASH photography. i wouldn't want to blind his gifted little eyes anyway.

Venue definitely, and the artist. I was at a Peter Murphy show a few years ago, and there was some girl up front constantly taking his picture and using a flash (big no-no). He took the camera out of her hand, put it at the back of the stage, and told her he'd give it back to her at the end of the show. I'll dig around and see if I can find any good photos.

In this one, the bassist is playing the drums (Joe Doyle from the Frames)-- I can't take credit for this photo, but one of my best buds took it.

Cool man. I'm using that pic of downtown Toronto straight towards the sky with the buildings on the border as my desktop wallpaper now.

Kinda disorienting.
