Giving it a first listen right now jason...its pretty. She has a lovely voice and i'm a sucker for stripped down music with a healthy dose of piano which this seems to have. Can't tell how good the songs themselves are...that will take a few repeat listens.

I didn't like the other Tinariwen album that i heard that much but this has gotten very good reviews and they are playing a relatively small venue in LA in November so I thought i'd give them another chance.

I was listening to this the other day at work. I've decided I really like this and that I think its completely the best Lowell George-penned album.

hey billy is there any shady business with BMG? I know I've heard things before, but I'm not sure. I am a member with yourmusic and it works, but they keep running out of cds that i have queued up, plus they raised their price so its not even that good of a deal anymore. i'm just trying to get an idea of how BMG works beyond what the site says and if you have any complaints or if you would rec it to me.

yeah its run by the same company as yourmusic and should (at least mostly share the catalog). Assuming you quit after you've bought your required 1, BMG is a little cheaper per cd than yourmusic. I guess the advantage in yourmusic is never being sent something you didn't ask for. Although I generally know when i've ordered something and just scribble return to sender across my unwanted ones and return them at no cost.

purchases over the weekend:
