 Post subject: finally seeing Magnolia Electric Co this weekend...

Can't wait. Although, I hear that Molina doesn't really like to play old stuff in his live sets, which kinda sucks for me, because I really want to hear stuff off of the last Songs: Ohia album, "Magnolia Electric Company". Still my fave.

Will I be shit outta luck on that front?

the only thing i've heard of theirs is some of the box set...i should probably download that album

I've seen them twice, both times in 2006 I think, and I believe he played stuff from that last S:O album, since it is basically a Magnolia Electric Co. album. I know on the MECo live album, he even does songs from Didn't It Rain.

i had tickets to see him open for son volt last spring, but had to bail because of i fucked up my back.

the dvd from that box set made me realize i probably missed a damn good show. i'll have to catch him some day.

Awesome show. And they did play a couple of songs from the MEC - titled album. They finished with a shit-kickin' Hank Williams tune, too.

Spoke to Jason for a bit after the show. Super nice guy, easy to talk to. Uncannily firm handshake.
