when i used to dowlnload, i almost never went out and bought the real thing. i was satisfied with the quality generally, and if i wasn't, i'd find another copy with a higher bitrate. it was too easy. the very few albums i d/led early and actually bought was hail to the thief, whiskeytown's strangers almanac, and maybe a couple others. but, really, i'd download like crazy and paid next to nothing. just didn't sit right.

Just out of curiousity, how many of you who download leaked albums actually buy them later?

i do. if i really dig the album, i will buy it. but with beck, spoon, & new order- i'm going to try not to listen to any of these albums and just wait patiently til the release date...

I don't listen to anything in advance.

I guess I'm super old fashioned.

Dudes I used to think Sleater sucked ass. I've NEVER liked a Sleater record.

They finally started rocking and stopped poking around.

how differently musically is it compared to the last one? cos the last one was a huge letdown for me. it was also said that the last one was purportedly "rocking."

I think that, with all those naughty HipInion posts floating around, you could've chosen a better way to phrase this...

I intentionally avoid those.

Not you specifically... but on a few boards people have been asking and no one's been receiving. This is a plot against our happiness!

If a YSI link follows it by the time I get home tonight, my pants will grow a bit tighter in the crotch, if you catch my drift...

I download a lot of albums or rip them from friends, and I almost always buy them if I end up liking them. Even if I don't really listen to the hard copy.

I just recently went through all the albums I've burned to disc and I'm trying to buy them all. There were a few I decided I didn't care enough about to buy though. I think in less than 2 months I've bought almost as many cd's as I did all of last year.

I buy as many albums as I can afford if they have made me happy via digitized copies beforehand - preferably when I go to see the people in concert, and buy from the merch table.
