Bloc Party, Prefuse 73, and British Sea Power, and those are just the ones I know of. I need to start saving up. Any other great release dates coming up?

Today was LCD Soundsystem, Wedding Present, Greatest American Hero: Season One, Disorderlies, and (if you're into this sort of thing) Motorcycle Diaries.

I'll be picking up at least 2 of these post work/gym tonight...

That "Daft Punk" song by LCD Soundsystem reminds me of the Talking Heads. I might have to pick up their album this week. I heard it comes with a singles compilation that's just as good as the album itself!

I'm probably gonna end up picking up the new LCD Soundsystem. I figure even if the disc is just pretty good, the singles disc is kick ass!

I was spontaneously inspired by this thread and ran out to pick up LCD Soundsystem. When I asked the clerk at Tower if they had it, she asked her fellow employee if they had gotten in any LCD soundsystems, and I had to clarify that it was a CD.

I also picked up the new Filter Magazine which features the crappiest review of the new LCD Soundsystem ever--a fake IM conversation that smacks of Pitchfork at its worst. Oh well, there are some good features in there.

The daft punk song almost turned me off of the album completely. Really like tribulations (it's a fun song) and really like yeah (the crass version). I like how the girl says "yeah yeah yeah" all softly and devoid of emotion.

i love the daft punk song. actually, i think i like most of the LCD record quite a lot.

also, Iron_and_Beer person, i would recommend downloading all of those albums first. i personally don't think any of them are worth getting, and i'm quite a fan of Prefuse.

why, is it surprising that i would dislike something you recommend?

i mean, the sun still rises in the east, right?

ZING!!!!!

yeah, so. i dunno, i just don't find those particular records all that worth getting. i think the Bloc Party's next record could be interesting, but right now, i think they're more preoccupied with form over function/substance. Prefuse has done much better in the past and i honestly think this is just his version of a Santana guest vocalists record - nothing terribly new, but gosh the roster is fab! i never found BSP all that captivating and the new record hasn't changed my mind.

I really hope the Prefuse CD is good. I really liked One Word Extinguisher and was a bit worried when I saw all the guest stars. I probably will dl this one to see what I think.

I don't mind the album, it's reasonably good, but at least 4 of the 9 tracks are shameless rip-off's of Neu, Kraftwerk and Cluster songs. I, mean, exact copies!

Oh and I wouldn't worry about being broke. At least one of those releases will inexplicably be 'held back' for no good reason other than to piss of you.
