"Waitin On a Sunny Day" is a better track; "The Rising" got some classic rock/AOR/Active A/C play and they sold it as a single (awards shows etc.) but I never could figure that out. I thought it was weak as a single.

I never said that. I said I like the non-singles better. "Waitin' On A Sunny Day" never cracked the Top 100, even though it's better than "Lonesome Day"

"The Rising" was an adult contemporary hit (Top 10) because its lyrics connected with listeners in the wake of 9/11.

Countin on a Miracle and Further on Up the Road are my fave tracks. And I don't think anyone will be embarresed to be hearing them on deep-album cuts playlists or when Bruce busts 'em out en concert.
