Is it just me, or are many threads going off on many tangents tonight/yesterday/today?

In any case, awesome news for the Bon Savants.

And wrestling does totally suck now.

awesome. although watch out. all of my ex-boyfriend's bands get in and then miss winning ever so slightly.
I am the calamity jane of the rock scene
let's hope there's a statute of limitations on that though, you'll be all set :)

except for the part where the Dresden Dolls actually get to go on tours and open for bands like NIN, i would be elated to "almost win." let's hope the KG charm continues on!

I am partial to the old old old move by this ancient pro wrestler. I think he had a German Soldier type name.

He used a punishing move called "The Claw"

It looked like a James Bond type move.
1. Hold your right wrist with your left hand.
2. Make your right hand into the shape of a formidable Claw.
3. Attach to your opponent and SQUEEZE!

BTW...

Did you play that show with the Zutons on the 5th of Feb?
How were they to you, cool?

Baron Von Raschke. My brother used to "slap it on" me all the time. That shit hurts. Also, that "lion tmaer" is the fucking BOSTON CRAB, bitches, and therefor KPH, that should be your finishing move.

Or, it could have been Fritz Von Erich, who mastered "The Iron Claw."

I'm amused by the idea that wrestling sucks now - like there was a golden age when it wasn't just a bunch of brawny half-wits rubbing each other down in tights.

Oh it was never good, but there was a time when it was a decent guilty pleasure. Now it's completely unbearable to watch. Or at least it was when I happened upon it a couple of years ago.

This probably has more to do with your perspective maturing rather than wrestling getting any worse.

You may have a point there.

I disagree. Atlantic Canada Wrestling Federation dudes of the 60's and 70's were a bunch of hairy, obese middle-aged men running around in stretch leotards. They were all a bnunch of Blutos and Popeyes smacking each other around. When I was a kid, I thought wrestling was SUPPOSED to be funny. But by the time I was a teen, and the McMahons had turned it into a bunch of steroided freaks who actually knew what they were doing, I realized the sport had graduated to "spectacle" status and I lost much of the enjoyment factor.

Ah yes. Much different. And, obviously, way better.

It's really always been about talking shit, and that is why Ric Flair will always be the best. Taht is why The Rock was/is as as popular as he is. If you can bring the smack, and the smackdown, wrestling will always be fairly entertaining.

<=====Still thinks it lost something when they admitted it was all BS. I mean, everyone knew, but why bring it above board?
