I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet. I, for one, believe every word of it, and believe it goes much further than even he says. Name ONE player from 1993-present you can definitely say wasn't juicing, besides Mark Lemke.

Discuss.

Sid Fernandez.
Otis Nixon.
John Kruk.

Today I read that Mike Greenwell now thinks that Canseco should give him the '88 MVP award since he was artificially swoll. Greenwell also blames Canseco for a lack of bargaining leverage, lucrative contracts and probably a plaque in Cooperstown.

if i were going to name one player that i definitely thought never juiced up, it'd be jim eisenreich. there're probably more, but he springs to mind immediately.

Was it because he has Tourette's?

For some reason I just remembered Dave Dravecky snapping his arm.

partially, but more because he just seemed like the anti-baseball player. i remember being at a game where there was a huge brawl. everyone from both dugouts was in the infield. he just stood in right field the whole time, though.

ouch. that was brutal, especially when they showed it on "sportscenter" sixty times. of course, now i just remembered bryce florie and billy wagner getting hit in the face.

i don't belive every word he says, in that interview he said things that were different from what he said in the book.

one time he said, "i injected Mark all the time" and another "it was only twice"

but do i believe lots of people took roids? yes.
do i belive you can get huge without them? yes.

Here we go...... I'll probably have to spread this out over say 50 posts so I don't bore y'all to tears......

To wit: I've been following this emerging baseball steroid issue for the past five years since I first read a short blurb in ESPN magazine. I'll save my boring recounts and analyses of the countless interviews, columns, features, injury reports, and stats that have passed before me in that time. I'll just start by naming the first 10 names i can think of and whoever wants to dispute can do that: (I'll leave out Jason Giambi, Jose Canseco and Ken "the dead tell no secrets" Caminitti since they are admitted)

Barry Bonds
Mark McGwire
Sammy Sosa
Roger Clemens
Brett Boone
Gary Sheffield
Brady Anderson
Chipper Jones
Ken Griffey Jr.
Nomar Garciapara

oh, and pretty much the entire: late 80's A's, the 1993 Phillies and the early 90's Rangers.

I've got more, dont get me started.

This was more meant to be a discussion of the merits of the book, not a name a player thread. I was using what we in English refer to as "hyperbole."

Not so fast on Jim Eisenreich, can't remember who, but heard a guy on the radio say that "EVERY member of the 93 Phillies was juicing" so I guess the bus rolls over Krukie, too.

sad but true my man; what I heard came from former players; its a damn shame dog, but frankly---the game made no moves to outlaw them so why wouldn't people do them.

I have not read the book (I hope a certain gigantic book buying friend of mine buys it soon so I can) so I can't really give you a fair assesment.

I probably believe Jose Canseco more than I should, but in reallty, why shouldn't? Baseball is as dirty as horse racing and boxing combines and has been since its inception.

10 more:
Tom Glavine
Greg Maddux
Steve Avery
John Rocker
Mark Wohlers
Eric Gagne
Curt Shilling
Mike Piazza
Ruben Sierra
Vinnie Castilla

Yeah, there are 4 teams, who have NEVER had a player NOT on steroids: Rockies, Marlins, D'Backs, D'Rays. Think about THAT.

It should be said that one dude who wasn't on 'em: Rickey Be Rickey

I believe he is trying to say: "Y'all sorry" "gggggaaaaaaaaa y'all sorry" "Yo Daddy"

As for pictures, I ain't looking for 'em but I'm sure they are out there. Plus, not everyone uses roids to get "big." They improve recovery time, allowing pitchers to recover faster, they allow people to run faster, etc...

I'll throw you out some more: the mid nineties Indians. Thome, the Alomars, Joey Belle, etc...

Adrian Beltre - Yes. The whole i put on 25-30 pounds of solid muscle on my frame during the offseason seems like a stretch.
