All this ban does is make me drink faster and keeps me reaching into my pockets over and over and over and over and over to have a cigg.

I then remember that I cant smoke and I get sad and get another drink.

It's this on going trend that I cant break.

I should just stop going out all together and read comics.

Go outside and freeze your ass off if you want a smoke. I have actually heard of friends in NYC picking up smoking b/c of the ban. They found that the socializing was better when they stepped outside.

It's out of control here in vancouver. I generally agree with the smoking ban. I'm a casual smoker and don't really mind going outside. However I went to a show a little whille ago and i had to line up inside the bar to go outside to have a cigarette! I was blown away. How can you make us line up to leave the bar! That bar is particularly run by unfriendly jerk off bouncers as well.

This law has been in effect for quite some time in LA - I think we were the first major city to do it...

All it means is that my friends scour for places that'll let you smoke inside, or else there's the private conversation excuse of "going outside for a smoke"...

However, since I don't smoke, I rarely get into these conversations. Yeah - That's the ticket...

most of my drinking buddies smoke. i don't want to be alone guarding the table inside while they're outside having all the fun.

Sorry, G_P, being that I'm allergic to smoke, you'll not get my sympathy vote on this matter. I think it's GREAT that I get to enjoy a show, a drink, a meal without having to be enshrouded in a smoke haze, coughing, hacking and dealing with an incredible headache.

Now, if you're gonna smoke herb around me, I won't push you away.

I love being able to go to a bar and not come home with the smoke stank. That's rare however since Seattle doesn't have a smoking ban.

boulder has had the ban since i moved here back in '96. i love it, simply for the reasons stated above...my clothes don't smell awful after a night out. some of the bars have "smoking rooms", tiny little boxes where people cram in like sardines and puff away. if you're poor and can't afford smokes, all you gotta do is head in there and breathe.

i smoke, but i actually dig not smoking inside. i don't care about stepping outside to smoke a cigarette.

speaking of drinks, i think i may have a few tonight... i've been good with this "break," and it's been quite the week.

ever since i 'quit smoking,' i have had at least one cigarette every time that I drank on the weekends. but i've been smoke free during the week/non drinking times.

I have no problem with the smoking ban in restaraunts, but I do with bars.

It's just going to take some time to adjust.
