Yours?

On a side note, 2007 has really picked up for me as I've been listening to some really good stuff lately. 2007 is the year of electronic music.

That Sole record is a good one. Need to burn it to disc.

I've been listening to Soulsavers and Wax Fang a lot recently.

Still hung up on Brinsley Schwarz.

But, I guess that I've also gotten obsessed with Joe Pisapia, and am anxiously awaiting a new album.

seriously.... meh. And trust me, I'm not a backlasher (except in the case of Vampire Weekend). It's just a mediocre Radiohead record.

I couldn't say that I have a particular band/artist I'm obsessing over... I'm just kinda obsessing in general over listening to music again. I felt like I was in a rut for a while there. So it's not necessarily new stuff, but older stuff I'm digging.

Menomena and Hello, Blue Roses
I have also listened to Handsome Furs and Donovan quite a bit recently.

The New John Davis album.

It's been on constant rotation at my house, in my mp3 player.

I've been on an 'ol school hip hop kick lately. Public Enemy, Ice T and Cube, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pharcyde, Eric B. & Rakim, Gang Starr ... etc.

I'm lovin' it.

Heavy on the old-school pub rock lately, mostly Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe.

All things Al Kooper still plus using AMG to search for albums i've never heard of that have artists I love making guest contributions. Have found lots of great stuff that way lately.

I know this gets brought up every time, but...

Neko Case is not that hot. I can understand finding her more attractive by virtue of her great voice & music, but inevitably the fans post pictures that misrepresent her physical allure. THIS is what Neko Case looks like:

Just not that hot.

It's the voice. She'd tell me what to do... and I'd DO it.

Also, that trick can NOT be done with Feist. Looks too much like The Tick, bless her.

And I think that I am slowly developing a Nilsson obsession.
