I made mine a few weeks earlier than normal. Was looking through favorite songs of the year, and realized that all my "must have" tracks got to 80 minutes pretty quickly. I hadn't used MixMeister in a while either, and I had a lot of fun with transitions and sneaking things inbetween a few tracks.

Hmm. I'll do one in a few days. Weird thing is I've heard thousands of tracks this year but not a lot of full albums.

First year in my life I'm not album-oriented.

This is a bunch of fairly mellow stuff that might not make it on to other Obner mixes, but stuff that I didn't want to be totally forgotten. Pretty much a mood mix, too. I would've liked to include songs by the Parlour Steps and the Manvils, but haven't found their albums yet.

1. Joe Henry Civilians
2. Nicole Atkins Cool Enough
3. Silos Days Gone By
4. The Broken West Hale Sunrise
5. Grant Lee Phillips Raise The Spirit
6. Chuck Prophet Naked Ray
7. Bettye Lavette Before The Money Came (The Battle Of Bettye Lavette)
8. The Dexateens What Money Means
9. Limbeck Friends
10. Nick Lowe Not Too Long Ago
11. Patti Scialfa Play Around
12. Ian Hunter Words (Big Mouth)
13. Two Cow Garage Mediocre
14. Dom Mariani Snapshot
15. John Doe The Golden State
16. The Breakers Tried So Hard
17. Peter Case Million Dollars Bail
18. The Mendoza Line Packs of Three
19. Ted Leo & The Pharmacists The Toro And The Toreador

Great songs.

In fact I'm a little pissed because a few of those would have been on my mix.

I'll have to check out some of the other ones you've got on there.

1 - i was just about to say that radcliffe's mix indeed repeats some artists i've seen on other mixes

2 - i think when i will post my mixes, i will mark some tracks with a * to note that they've been stolen from other mixes.

Just you wait, you'll also see them on mixes by BillyG, GAR, Bloor, RParis, and DJack...

I'd take overlap with any of those people as a compliment.

Also Bort - there's only been 3 mixes posted so far, with only one repeated artist, so I'm not sure what mixes you're talking about. Besides, I wasn't making any claim to being solely original - more that the albums I'm drawing from don't get much Obner lip service, so the songs will probably be neglected on year end mixes.

Ok I've put together a mix for 2007. I didn't make a list of all my favorite songs, as most of those have been heard by everyone. Instead I went with songs that perhaps fewer obners have heard or have been overlooked. Link coming later.

1. The Weakerthans - Civil Twilight
2. Buffalo Tom - Bottom of the Rain
3. John Doe - Unforgiven
4. Dinosaur Jr - Been There All The Time
5 Blitzen Trapper - Wild Mountain Nation
6. Steve Earle - Steve's Hammer (For Peter)
7. Stephen Fretwell - Coney
8. The Green Pajamas - Katie's Gone
9. Son Volt - Methamphetamine
10. Chuck Prophet - downtime
11. Julie Doiron - Dark Horse
12. David Dondero - You Don't Love Anyone
13. The Mendoza Line - 31 Candles
14. Lucinda Williams - Learning How To Live
15. Joe Henry - Parker's Mood
16. Jason Isbell - Chicago Promenade
17. Grant Lee Phillips - Fountain of Youth
18. Richmond Fontaine - Westward Ho
19. The National Lights - Riverbed

I've started numerous mixes for this, spending hours picking out songs, only to delete the whole thing part-way through. Always feel like they aren't good enough or "gelling" properly. Will atempt yet again tonight to make a couple and get them up on zshare.
