This satire on the iraq invasion is brilliant and makes excellent use of Baldwin's feigned gravitas and Morgan's flair for insanity. I am consistently impressed by this show. Am I the only one?

Never watched it; I chose the now defunct Studio 60 and my shame precludes me from making the switch.

30 Rock has been a balm to my Arrested Development wound.

this sounds like the exact kind of reasoning that I would do, so while it is tragic, I understand. it's probably why I have never watched more than the first episode of the Wire; I probably chose to go with something godawful and it's too late to turn back now.

I've seen it twice, & while I find it clever & amusing, I don't find it to be funny. I'm chuckling, but not laughing.

And in particular, I flat-out HATE the incidental music on the show.

i saw clips and pieces here and there and it didn't really strike me.

but the above reference to it being a balm in a post-Arrested Development world has me interested all of a sudden. So I ask, how so is it?

(Also, when I saw this thread title my first thought was the old television show 3rd Rock From The Sun...)

It continues to be fantastic.

This and the Office are the only shows I watch, and really I only watch the Office because it's on after.

Network TV, LOL;.

His line about the animal strip club on thursday killed me

"Animal Customers? Now that's just crazy" (or something like that)

I still like "my motorcycle hit a police horse"

the show is genius. and the music is exactly that. They've probably used just as much Chamillionaire as they have that stuff.

they also get really good cameos--Paul Reubens, Steve Buscemi, Carrie Fisher were some of the better ones I can think of

heroin : methadone

as

AD : 30R

Don't often see that analogy on the SAT's....I can't speak from experience in the first comparison, so I'm sure it's not perfect.

AD is by far the greater of the two, and when it was canceled, I suffered acute withdrawal symptoms. But in 30R there are instances where one funny quip is followed immediately by another and then another...multiple funny characters, absurd behavior...it has helped ease my pain. And Baldwin IS a riot.

I like 30 Rock more than AD in pretty much every single aspect. But then, i wasn't a AD fanboy.

30 does, but not as often or as elegantly as AD did, string jokes together until they have three or four layers that have to be taken as once to get the full effect, and that's the kind of writing that impresses me.

I think 30R can be taken as individual servings where AD almost required dedicated sequential viewing to appreciate fully.
