Seriously it's like downtown Falluja out there.

Ear drum blasting rapid fire explosions, air bursts, tracer streaking through the sky, ambulance sirens, the acrid smell of smoke drifting across the damp night air...

I have a very painful headache now and it's all Guy Fawkes fault. They were right to execute him!

Well yeah, but it's not quite as sustained as this and it's usually only when the pubs are chucking people out. I've got the 'normal' 'everyday' sounds to look forward to later in the evening at around midnight.

I know it is an English/Scottish holiday but what the hell is Guy Fawke's day. Not to be ignorant or anything

Guy Fawkes and his gang of Catholic conspirators planned to blow up the House of Parliament. They were discovered filling the basement up with gunpower, tried and executed. For some reason we celebrate this by maiming ourselves with high explosive every year and burning a 'Guy' on a bonfire.

It looked up the actually dates and it was away in 1606! So why we in Scotland are celebrating it I have no idea. The act of Union wasn't for an other 101 years so it has absolutely nothing to do with us. I say ban this awful event! Seriously the locals are dangerous enough with selling incendurary devices in the local cornershops!

This reminds me of a lovely and sexy pale blonde exchange student named Sally that was in one of my classes in college. She explained to us what Guy Fawkes day is and repeated the phrase "A penny for the Guy?". I can still hear her say it. She was a missed opportunity and I wish I could go back in time!
