That left the Jets on the hook for a coach -- they hired Al Groh from Parcells's offensive staff; he was gone within the year, though, to coach at his alma mater, UVa -- then to suffer the Herm Edwards era, & now the uneven Eric Mangini.

Of course, in Belichick's defense, that cougar that he #### & dumped in the Jersey swamps just wouldn't let go. He had to get away, to another state, to keep her off his back.
