Safe to talk about it now... man wants $$$ to fund a serial killer investigation so he can parlay that into taking down Marlo.

From the "I know no one cares, but at least it's a different state than Nebraska" File:

When Gus tells the story in the smoking parlor, about "Big Tommy" and "My desk tells your desk to go fuck itself," he's referring to Tommy D'Alesandro, former Mayor of Baltimore, who also happens to be Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's father.

Finally saw Ep1 and 2 last night. Awesome, as always. I like the Newsroom bit. I'm a bit amazed that we're just introduced to them and yet they seem like they've been a part of the show.

Also, does anyone question Avon's sincerity regarding Marlo?

Avon is a soldier. I think he's just playing the only angle he has. I believe his sincerity when it comes to his love for the Westside but regarding Marlo I think it's just business.

He'll never forget he came after him but if this is the play he has to make to help out his sister or whoever then so be it for now.

Watched Ep 3 last night. IT'S ON!

This airing the new episode a week in advance On Demand is killing discussion of this season.

Yeah, could be. Although, if his character is as stubborn as he has been previously, incredibly obsessed with taking back the corners etc., I just wondered if he's not setting Marlo up for something. There was just something insincere about his willingness to help the dude who bested him, even the 100k for his sister. I realize I'm talking about Avon like he's a real person, but there you go.

The way that Avon was emphasizing stuff like "East Sid BITCHES! and standing by the door and waving the "W" with his hand for "Westside" makes me think this is a total shuck and 'Von's gonna buck on Marlo -- and he'll use Slim to do it.

Maybe I'm a simpleton, but my first reaction was that Avon was just happy to be back in the game--I mean dude obviously ENJOYS it as opposed to Stringer and even Marlo who are so fucking serious about shit.

The two thoughts aren't mutually exclusive, though.

And, you nailed it above -- Avon IS a funny motherfucker. I just love the way he is acting in these scenes.

Now, as I recall, Wood Harris said he wasn't returning to the show after S3. They must've offered him some big bucks to return. Money well spent. That scene was great... let's Marlo know he's not big dog just yet.

I thought the scenes with Avon and Marlo were fantastic. If you ask me, Avon sincerely would rather have a westsider in power. He hates Prop Joe and probably blames him more than Marlo for being out of the game. He still would blow Marlo away if given the chance.

I wanna slam that Scott (the reporter) dude's head in a car door. Thing is, I had a really good friend who did stuff like that and got sacked, so maybe I'm just overreacting emotionally.

I'm worried about Bubs. He's a man with no anchor.

And where's Cutty?

Haha. There's been a few of those guys that have come through our doors.

I like how Avon got to stand where the guard stands.
