It is a sad day for kings fans, and a huge day for trades apparently. I have so much faith in Geoff Petrie, but I don't really see how this will help the team in the long run. Come on, I know there are other Kings fans out there.

Wow..I never thought Billy King had it in him...He must have some naked pics of Petrie somewhere...As a Sixers fan, I'm happy...It's the only game in town right now (F tha NHL), so it will make things pretty interesting..Especially in the weak-ass division they are in...

sacto was only gonna bomb out in the playoffs anyway. This way, Iverson will get a chance at the playoff glory that has thus far eluded him.

now that i think about it, it seems like addition by subtraction for sacramento. maybe they can get up and down more and run with phoenix and seattle a bit. seems like that team was designed to compete with the lakers and now the situation has changed.

...and c-dub will stop bitchin' about Peja. I think both teams will actually be better off from this.

you make a good point...but I still don't understand the trade, look at what the kings got in return, nothing, I wouldn't want any of those players on my squad.

Kenny Thomas and Corliss Williamson? nothing? You are insane.

The Kings already had Corliss and traded him for Doug Christie. He's a decent player, but nothing special. Kenny Thomas is also good, but again, nowhere in the ball park of Chris Webber. I'm not sad that Chris Webber is gone, but I don't think these additions will help them. If nothing else, it leaves a gaping hole at power forward. Basically, either Corliss Williamson or Darius Songaila will be starting. Would you want either of these guys facing Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett for an entire game?

nah, but a)there was no way of Webber staying and b)there are very few people in the league that i'd feel comfortable matching against those guys. Webber is not one of those guys for me anymore. I look at Corliss and KT as world-class reserve players and Webb as a damaged star player whose PG outshines him every night. It's not that outlandish.

Just out of curiosity, Iron_and_Beer, but is Erik Daniels seeing any minutes with the Kings this season. One of my favorite players ever to wear the distinguished Kentucky jersey.

Nope. Of all the games I've seen this season, I think I've only seen him once or twice in garbage time.
