I was a pretty big fan for a while of Tori's....

'little Earthquakes" and "Under the Pink" are 10's in my book.
"Boys for Pele" and "From the Choirgirl Hotel" had their great moments but shades of filler material in my eye...

Then it stopped......The live CD w/ CD of new material, The covers record, then that last one, i dont think i played more than twice each...

So, "The Bee Keeper' came out this week....And I have just no real interest in purchasing or even hearing it that bad...Sure, if i found it used for 5 bux or got it sent to me, wonderful!

So, Have my tastes just changed and pushed Tori aside, or has her music just declined over the years, and she doesnt have the magic of her earlier years??

Never been a fan.

That video she did where she was a foot or something was really disturbing...

No shit sherlock I didn't just fall off a turnip truck.

I just thought that was a rather interesting thing to call her considering she's one of the last females in the music industry I'd think of as a whore.

Now J.Lo...

yeh, to be honest, the beekeeper is pretty tame. she barely distinguishes herself, although some of the songs are really well-built. it's kinda a concept album, about a central character, but that's about all that really makes it great.

chase, why did you say she's a whore?

My interest has waned since Under the Pink having grown out of that pseudo gothy teen phase

i think the last good album she did was from the choirgirl hotel. the number of good songs on her albums kept dwindling and i think it was about at 3 or 4 on that album. that awful covers album didn't help matters.

I liked Scarlett's Walk. That album actually renewed my interest in her. Basically that album and Little Earthquakes are the only CDs of hers where I like more than 3 or 4 songs. Everything else in between is sketchy. I bought the new one. My first impression is that it's very similar to Scarlett's Walk. Whether I will grow to like it - I don't know. It's kinda long (19 tracks).

That's sorta what I think too. When I heard Scarlett's Walk I thought "oh, she's trying again" - 'cuz the bulk of her discography since her debut is an indistinguishable washout of shitty poetry set to shittier music. Her lazy formula was bared on that covers album (ie: take any song, reduce it to piano accompaniment, mumble the lyrics, add an occasional shriek, repeat). Anyway, I won't be buying this one. A little Tori goes a long way.

And y'know, I always suspected she was a whore. Now I know.
