Those bands or artists that you acknowledge the genius of, but wouldn't mind never hearing again...

The Greatful Dead
The Clash (sorry)

Thoughts?

Yeah, Stones for me to, though there are one or two I sorta like. But no more than three, that's for sure.

There are 15 or 20 great classic Stones songs I'd never miss. But the stuff that isn't overplayed... I'd miss all that.

I'll add:
Led Zep
Peter Gabriel
Smashing Pumpkins
The Police / Sting
The Doors

Put me down for Nirvana and Led Zeppelin.

I would also say radiohead, but to a much lesser extent than these two. I certainly don't have anything against them, in fact I consider myself a fan. And, I do like to play them every once in a while. But for the most part, I just rarely feel like listening to them.

No, just maybe the popularity. He stays in rotation after all these years... but no, not genius.

I need further convincing that I should pay even lip service to the Police.

Definitely:
Led Zeppelin
Most Bjork
Stones (that they contributed, not that their music is brilliant)
I'm working on Can, but we'll see

I'm with these, especially Clapton.

I didn't like Beck till I heard "Sea Change," which seems to be when everyone else stopped liking him. Then I heard "Mutations" which is an excellent album and I think would appeal to the most non-Beck fans. Have you Beck haters heard it?

I loved Sea Change & Mutations. But then again, I'm not a Beck hater. I love all his stuff.

Anyway, my picks:
The Beatles
Beastie Boys
Nirvana

The only Beck I don't really care to hear anymore is Odelay, though I never liked Sea Change much. The last time I put on Mutations, I was surprised by how much I still like it.
