why?!? (chicago version)

tania made a post awhile ago agonizing over the choice between kings of convenience and doves on the same night in LA.

well, now i know this is a long time away and that, for most people, it's a clear choice, but i just want to explain something first: i don't like reunions. so, with that said:

may 12: gang of four @ metro OR snow patrol/athlete @ vic

and i can't go to the gang of four show the night before because my family's in town then. and even though gang of four's one of my favorite bands, i'm actually debating this because i like snow patrol and athlete quite a bit. it's also barely cheaper.

gang of four are a bunch of old guys now, and i would doubt that that means theyre going to do much more touring. so, i say go get yourself some entertainment!

Snow patrol will actually come around again, possibly with a better band. Athlete will come around again and, if they're the headliner, that show will be a lot more intimate/cheaper. Gang of Four probably will not.

yeah, that's pretty much how i'm leaning too... and i hear that gang of four's sets have been mostly drawn from entertainment anyway. and, really, that's all that matters.

Don't know much about snow patrol, and am not a huge athlete fan, but I think you should see gang of four because this is one of those "this is your only chance to do this" things.

yeah, but i'm also the guy who was adamant about not wanting to see the pixies last year. i just don't like the idea of reunions. their time and place was then and i'd rather think of them as being integral to then and not making a dollar now. with that being said, i'll probably see gang of four anyway.

seeing a band at the Vic blows and will probably be more expensive than the metro.

I'm confused if you can't go to the show because your family is in town, what is your problem choosing a show, isn't it none?

gang of four is wednesday and thursday, but they'll be here on wednesday, so i can't go then. then snow patrol is thursday too. so, i was choosing for then, but yeah, it's almost 3 months away.
