i spend too much time staring at beer and not being able to decide what to buy. if i had some recommendations then i'd have a lot easier of a time.

lately i've been drinking these shits:

Image
if you can still find them, i think they are supposed to be around from november-december, but i just recently bought ellwood thompsons out of their stock, so it might still be available in certain places. it's been my favorite seasonal beer thus far.

this is my barleywine replacement for that mad elf, since i drank it all..
Image

this was my superbowl beer:
[img][136:500]http://www.bov.ch/labels/USA/usa-stone-double-bastard.jpg[/img]
it got me good and fucked up last night.

other beers i've been really into lately have been lagunitas, either rich copper ale, or brown shugga, and dead guy ale.

i tried this beer called the end of the world (La Fin Du Monde) and it was pretty good, but really i've been eyeing this guy:

[img][142:500]http://www.ratebeer.com/beerimages/full_size/13815.jpg[/img]

i've wanted to try this for about a month. now i have the money to splurge on 10 dollar single beers, but i didn't before. anyone tried it?

post yr nice beers, i need ideas for tonight after work!

haha thanks that's what i needed to know. i read some reviews of it and some people loved it but i think theyre major beer nerds. and i just like to drink beer that actually tastes like something versus peebs these days.

that beer you posted looks pretty sweet todd, if i can find it at river city cellars then i'll get it. i doubt it would be anywhere else.

edit: i forgot to ask if anyone has tried this:

Imagethat's another one i really have been eyeing but its pricy like terrible, but hopefully you all have better things to say about this one.

Absolutely... on tap, this is a life-altering brew.

Then you can try these:

bought this one once and it had that green bottle skunk thing going on...can we just ban these things already?

I'd try it again if I were able to get one that's a little fresher, but I'm not gonna buy it around here anymore

CP, if you're a hophead, I'm a big fan of this one

I don't know the Double Bastard, but I've had Arrogant Bastard and I wouldn't recommend it for its price. Subpar and seemingly more energy in packaging/marketing than in the beer itself.

Wouldn't it be "nice" if could consolidate all of our beer-centric threads into one massive beer thread?

you should really buy some bells hopslam while it's available.

also, did you know that Costco sells a case of dead guy for less than the independent beer/wine shop across the street can buy it wholesale? I don't want to see the indie beer stores squeezed out, because that is some retail fuckery right there.
