So these protesters always set up outside of my parent's neighborhood twice a year with these ginormous posters of aborted fetuses and their bastard shoeless children in tow and signs with the address of this abortion doctor that lives there, which was nice because it gave me somewhere to send my letter of recognition and a fiver. However, today there's some at the end of my block at this building that i never knew was a clinic with relatvely toned down signs decrying the fact that what looks like a bank is in fact a nagative baby factory. what i don't understand is how i should react. i chose to drive by incredibly slowly and do the "thumbs down" thing from gladiator, and the guy just waved at me, so i flicked him off. he was this old white dude anyway; i suspect that the guy upstairs will be pulling his string any day now. I thought about making my own sign noting that i support the removal of unwanted guests that they perform there, but i wanted to get to work and i'm a tad busy this afternoon. ignoring them just doesn't seem right. any advice?

I used to be an escort at the PP in Brookline, MA (you know, the one that was bombed like 15 years ago) and there were always these crazy ppl outside every Sat AM at like 5 30 am. Mostly white middle aged men. they would say these crazy, practiced bible rants at people with no gusto whatsoever

there was also a guy with a videocamera who whould pretend to tape people going in (hi, it was a clinic for a million things). They said they doubted he had tape in there and some people would wave to the camera..

there was also this GINORMOUS black woman who held a baby doll and would pray out loud.

sweet lord. I am all for people voicing their opinion but the law says they only have to stand 6 feet away from the clinic and they can bother people in the lot in the back and all. So they're allowed to harass people. It's right off the BU campus and the students (male and female) would always tell them to fuck off and all...

As I've said before, I completely support a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy. However, in my mind, that IS a life in there. So, I don't know what that makes me. Human perhaps?

Shit man, humans terminate life all the time without so much as a thought, from squashing bugs and picking flowers to slaughtering farm animals and bombing other countries. It's not really a question of whether or not a foetus is alive - of course it is. Whether abortion is morally right or wrong is a fool's argument (which explains why fundamentalist Christians are it its forefront); sometimes cruel, unfair decisions just have to be made.

Now that the abortion cat is out of the bag, what's the point of this non-issue?

Pro-choicers will have abortions, Pro-lifers will force their kids to carry to term, nobody will wisen up and use one or more forms of protection, and the whole vicious cycle begins again, but maybe with a VD here and there to spice it all up.

If they ever made it illegal again, the only thing that would change are where the abortions take place and how unsanitary and dangerous they will become.

So seriously, what's the point in getting bent out of shape when it's such a circular argument on both sides of the fence?
