A lot of really great song on this one. A nice surprise. It was the only one of his I hadn't heard yet.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT AN ALBUM. I can't believe how much I'm grooving to this. I may go through a serious beefheart phase after today's epiphany.

finally getting into this band and loving it.

Fuck yeh. Is "Floppy Boot Stomp" not one of the coolest songs ever?

I recently picked up the Spotlight Kid/Clear Spot two-fer, both of which have always taken a critical drubbing, and was totally blown away by how great those albums are.

I had listened to Gang of Four a few times and never really got into them. When I first heard the Franz Ferdinand s/t, I listened to the first 2-3 tracks and turned it off, only to put on Entertainment! and listen to it twice in a row, then pretty regularly for the next month or so.

It was odd, but I'm glad for it.

Well it's a toss up between that and "Big Eyed Beans From Venus" as my favourite Beefheart track. Weird, I've been listening to 'Trout Mask Replica' this weekend and 'Gimme Dat Harp Boy! - The Roots of the Captain' which has the music that influenced the Captain. Mainly ancient blues music, including a track from one of my all time favourite blues artists Tommy McLennan, who I think should get alot more recognition. You don't really see his name mentioned often enough.
