criticizing grossman's pro career is silly since he's played a half dozen games. and the man had a fuckup at o coordinator, a beat up O-line, and shitty wide outs.

oh, and the bears will be in the playoffs this coming year.

In other NFL news, Maurice Clarett blazed his way through the 40 in 4.72 and 4.82.

To show just how amazing that is, my fat ass cruised to a 5.0 in high school, with no plans on college or pro football.

Me too. And I gotta say, I was kind of excited at the prospect of hearing everyone's bear stories.

New offensive coordinator, new stud WR... the Bears are headed in the right direction. I'm not a huge fan of Rex either, but he won't lose a game for you. The Bears need to upgrade that O line and they'll contend for a playoff spot.

But it is not going to come together this year. Maybe in 2 or 3 years the Bears will have a chance of postseason play.

really, who in the north is vastly better? Green Bay doesn't field a defense, Minnesota just traded its best player away and Detroit can never seem to get over the hump. For that matter, who in the NFC is vastly better, other than Philly and Atlanta?

Grossman looks more promising than any qb the bears have developed in ten years. I know that's saying hardly anything, but he's not bad and that's good enough for me.

I agree with ya there Spade. Rex may turn out to be garbage, but he is already better than Cade McGar.

Green bay will win the division again this year, even more so without Moss to worry about. They went 10-6 with that D last year, and it can only get better in the off-season... it can't get much worse.

Detroit and Chicago are in the same boat - eternal reconstruction. I think you Bear fans have much better chances of seeing the postseason than Lion fans do, but I don't think you'll win the division this year, and I'll be surprised if either of these teams win a wildcard.

I say Detroit wins nine games and makes the playoffs this year. If the Vikings can figure out how to run a power running offense a play a little defense they will make the playoffs as well. Chicago honestly has as good a chance as either.

NFC North=Four potential 8-8 teams.

And please don't put Atlanta in the class of an elite NFC team Spade, it makes me nervous. Our franchise has never, EVER had back to back winning seasons sooooo we should be 4-12 this year.

Cautious optimism is the calling card of any true Falcons fan. Even with Mike Vick.

I don't know if you want the distinction of "elite NFC team" either because it really doesn't mean anything in today's NFL.

I hope Jerry Angelo gets fired this year if the Bears do not make the playoffs. I also hope they do the right thing on draft day and get a fucking offensive tackle

I want two fucking stud veteran offensive lineman to protect my fucking quarterback. Sure that Alex Gibbs O-line trickery got us the #1 rushing offense last year, but FUCK! I'm tired of Mike getting blindsided.

GB has the best O-line in the NFC.

Thus guaranteeing another 2-3 years of rebuilding before the team has a chance. You gotta give people time to build a team.

edit - I guess he's been in chicago since 2001? maybe you're right.
