This segment is better than "Ask a Brother" on Chappelle.

Are you kidding me? I wanted to hurt myself after hearing that. I put my tv on mute and left the room. She was out of tune. There is no need for her to be up there singing three songs tonight.

And first complaints: Renee Zellweger looks horrid and she sounded weird-my guess is she can't move her face to talk due to botox, and Scarlett's hair must be doubling as a bird's nest.

Oh, and Drew Barrymore could have a fabulous career as a bobble-head doll if she ever gives up acting. Her head bobbled all over the place while she was talking. I actually yelled at the tv for her to keep her head still.

Otherwise...Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Virginia Madsen and Vanessa Paradis all look great. At least that's all I've seen pretty much. Oh and Scarlett's dress is great, but jeez, not the hair.

What was that animated monstrosity that appeared with Pierce Brosnan? I think it's time for me to move on to another channel.

Is the rest of Sideways as godawful as that Virginia Madsen clip they just showed?

How fucking old is Kate Blanchett? for some reason I thought she was fairly young but she looked about 48 right then.

I didn't know Gary Busey was the drummer for Counting Crows.

This song is atrocious.

There are 128,000 things in the world that are worse than the Counting Crowes.

I'm just sayin'.

If my lot in life had been to be the bass player in that band, I'd be pretty fucking happy.

Did they just play a slowed-down riff of "Carry On My Wayward Son" when Adam Sandler walked out?

I stopped watching about an hour ago. It's proving to be absolutely boring, the songs are horrible and this will go down as the most predictable Oscar telecast I've ever seen.

I'm going back to watching Angel season 4 on dvd right now.

I watch every year, hoping for another Elliott Smith moment.

So far tonight I'm still hoping.

Okay, I think I should go to bed. When I got to your post, "Plainclothes Man" came on my shuffle.

Scorsese looks like Ace Rothstein at the end of Casino...think he knew something when he shot those scenes?

Kind of meh, but I'm seeing it through to the end. I really have nothing else to do anyway.

But yeah, Kate Winslet did look great, then again, she always does.
