White people like lists that go on despite the joke not being funny anymore.

Oh, they posted the dialogue from the episode of The OC where they poke fun at This American Life:

Summer: Who was that? It sounded like a girl.

Seth: Did it? Yeah. Well, sure. Because I’m listening to the radio. And This American Life is on. And so there’s a girl talking.

Summer: Is that that show where those hipster know-it-alls talk about how fascinating ordinary people are? God.

I think I'm the only Obnerd that listens to TAL and lurves it.

Read the descriptors, and its a pretty funny skewering of the aspirational yuppie lifestyle.

Also, I bet the beloved and missed harry would latch right on to the anti consumer society aspects of this list quite nicely.

Maybe if we hold hands and say his name 3 times in the mirror he will appear and tell us what he really feels.

And, I actually LIKE the parts that I can see in myself. We were laughing about the kitchen gadgets part while The Bloors and us were going through stuff we had acquired from the wedding, and fembloor was making some killer banana waffles with their waffle maker.

Prog Music -- doesn't fall in the "indie hipster" category, but it's mostly a white people thing, neh?

Finally something that kind of explains why I don't like Hip-Hop (except for the Mos Def, Hip-Hop songs and having black friends posts).

I'm so fucking white I wear sunglasses when it's raining.

I've been noticing the one about white people apologizing more and more since reading this. Like the other day I was at a bar and talking to this girl and she apologized for some random thing so I told her to stop apologizing and about the whole white people apologizing too much thing. Then she apologized for apologizing.

St. Patrick's Day:
Quote:

It is also worth nothing that on this day, there is always one trump card that never fails to gain respect and acclaim. When you are sitting at an Irish bar and someone orders a round of Guinness, you must take a single sip and while the other white people are savoring their drink, you say: “mmmm, I know it sounds cliche, but it really is true. Guinness just tastes better in Ireland.”

This comment will elicit an immediate and powerful response of people agreeing with your valuable insight. This statement also has the additional benefit of humiliating the members of your party who have not been to Ireland (and thus cannot confirm this proclamation). Having not traveled to Ireland and consumed a beer that is widely available in their hometown and throughout the world, they will immediately be perceived as provincial, uncultured, and inferior to you.
